Then the people from the first group think having a cabin in the woods is a great way to get away for a weekend. Before you know it..... Gatlinburg TN!! Wall to wall people, a cabin every 50 feet, traffic like Los Angeles and the people are complaining about the bears.

Prism Scope Field of View

FOV is dictated by the eye piece design. Lens diameter, eye relief, Focal length are the main drivers of eyepiece FOV, otherwise known as AFOV.

All else being equal the following is true-

-Larger Diameter eyepiece lens= wider FOV (For example the new Kahles/Swaro 28 degree scopes)

-Longer eye relief= narrower FOV
-longer focal length= narrower FOV

1X Prism scopes tend to have relatively small diameter eyepiece

Acog's have smaller eyepieces than LPVO's, BUT they have significantly shorter eye relief. The short eye relief is where they get the wide FOV.

which 6 to choose?

I discovered 6mm a couple years ago with a 243win and then a 243AI. Before that it was always .22 or .30 cal. for me.

The 243AI was still pretty loud suppressed shooting 55's at 4100 fps so I decided to go with something with a smaller powder charge. I decided on 6 Dasher. Right now the plan is to finish it at 22"

The 85gr bthp gamekings are devastating when pushed around 3400. Slowed down in the dasher I think they'll still be about right for the whitetail in my ao. Im thinking I'll probably mostly shoot 70-95gr projectiles in this build.

I'll echo what someone else already said though, you're already set up to load for the BR.

Strasser RS 700: straight pull Remage-style barrel nut that uses R700 accessories (stocks, triggers)

Klinsky Accuracy Internation Arctic Warfare look a like birch wood stock painted it and made the bottom metal modification.
This is going to be the stock for the Strasser on few weeks, before i get the real one.
I did use like 3 hours to do this stock, if it is good, i might keep it as spare one :D

How about we have a thread about the "paranormal"?

But- and this is a big but, while we like to think we've gotten "everything" figured out by now using science, I 'm not so sure I believe/share that mindset. I think we've answered a small amount of universal questions using science but (reference another thread I started tonight) but we, as a society, only seem to agree with that statement when it aligns with the discussion. And I (personally) find that to be a bit weird.
I don't think for a second that anyone, particularly scientists, think or claim 'Science' has figured everything out.

None of the scientists I know have ever claimed anything like that. Quite the opposite, they know they don't know anywhere near everything. That's the reason they continue to do research. To keep learning and keep figuring stuff out. That's what most of them do.

Scientists will freely admit that they don't know everything about many, many things. But that doesn't mean that if science can't explain something that there must be a paranormal explanation.

What I personally find really weird is people believing everything written, 2000-3000 years ago, then re-written, re-interpreted and translated to suit the tastes of the rulers of the time as the final, literal word of their chosen God.

Is this crown ok?

To the OP...

What does the crown look like at the bore edge? If it's clean and uniform... I wouldn't sweat it.

Take your Qtip like in the one pic and rub move it around the inside edge of the crown... as long as your not pulling chunks of fiber like that off from your threads... don't sweat it. Go shoot it and let it tell you how it's shooting.

Yes the overall finish of the crown work could be nicer looking.

After looking at the tenon threads, they look rough to me also. I’m curious what your thoughts are Frank?

Lubbock, Range-Morton TX 06/05/2025

Low precipitation supercell drops a huge F4 dust-wrapped multivortex wedge twister. Very little rain wrap and almost-dry RFD meant that the entire mothership storm structure and mesocyclone is completely visible and well defined. Storm was a hail producer though and Lubbock observers reported softball sized grapeshots coming down from that thing.
