It is enlightening to look at the difference between SD X and SD Y and then calculate the SD MV that it would take to create it. That can be compared to the chrono SD MV.

Not long ago this was a nice apartment complex. Now it's non English speaking and the landlord is getting more rent per unit.

I think my current barrel is kinda fast. I was able to get 144s up to 2800 with h4350 and it's only a 24" barrel.

Now that I've acquired reloder 16, I think it opens up the possibility of using 153s since the powder can kinda make up for some of the loss with my short barrel.

I used to have one. If I remember correctly, the cleaning rod is slightly shorter than the regular K98 ones, and the sight hood is different too.

Chrome, my bet is you had a tight chamber. When the case stuck was it difficult to extract by hand also? I played around with chamber size years ago with a different action but it was very drastic what a super small change made…

I personally was thinking a 2.5-20 nx8 myself, or mid range athlon like a Helos btr gen 2 2-12x42. But if you wanted to blow some more coin on a higher tier, you could do the 4-16 atacr, or the 3-12x50 zenith from S&B. Also depends on what you want your overall weight to be as well. Most guys like a lightweight rifle, with a bigger obj for a tad more light gathering but it's all personal dependance.
I personally dont need 2000 dollar glass quality or light gathering capabilities because I just dont feel comfortable taking shots at dawn or dusk anyhow, nor do I need a light weight rifle; carrying a heavy rifle doesnt bother me. I prefer small, lightweight optics because I dont like unwieldy rifles, or top heavy setups. I like them to be a little more balanced.
Also, it kind of depends on the type of rifle and the type of hunting. Utilitarian, rough and tumble hunting, I wouldnt get any nice, nor new, I'd buy 2nd hand, If it's the hunt to maybe get a deer, maybe not, but more for guys getting out of the house together and show off their high end Steyrs or Sauers with old classic kahles or hensoldt scopes, then I'd pick something expensive and foreign lol. Hey, it's a thing.
