Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

I wish I had the time to put some of my bag riders together, and make them available to you guys. Work has been too busy, and I have had my own side projects keeping me from doing anything else. I have a young friend that I wanted to get into F-open match's with using my SRS. Too much to do, and too little time.

Night Vision Bare minimum Thermal scope and mono recommendation

Old post, but simple answer. Spend as much or as little as you’d like, but get anything that has a QD mount. Then you only need one device. Put a reference point on your rail to snap the scope back on when you’re ready to shoot. I would never own a monocular, kind of an antiquated tool when quality QD thermal mounts exist.

Times Square Touts New Statue Of 12-Foot-Tall Black woman

I was thinking the same thing I’ll take a black woman all day everyday over a Hindu monkey god

Exactamundo.

You're supposed to piss your pants over a statue in NYC... but if San Marcos, TX wants to pass a resolution calling for an end to the genocidal terror campaign being waged with OUR MONEY against starving amputee orphan kids in Gaza, that's the END of state funds for them.

Same thing with a Michael Eric Dyson book on the shelf in one of our Military Academies- OMG! I'M SO MAD! GRRRRR!!

...while we continue to fold down our institutions, attack the rights of the People, and keep the global-surrender-doctrine rolling.

Pussy, where is your sense of adventure
Well, recap of last night... Have not drank in a week.
Started at 1700, seen the drinking and painting guns post. Painted rifle. Closed shop but left lights on. Left gun room open. Did not eat dinner.
Passed out before dark.
Left toys out in the yard. Luckily I live in the woods.
Hence my alcohol up tools down rule. Fuckin peer pressure..

Bad Hornady ammo 300PRC, 1/2 MOA to 6 MOA based on lot number.

I'm guessing the extruded stick powder is the better lot and the spherical is the crap lot?

Correct, my understanding is the stick powder is extruded and is temperature stable, the ball powder most likely isn't.
I believe the earlier (stick) powder was almost certainly RL26. It performed about like you'd expect for factory "match" ammo - good, not great. I don't know what the new ball powder is (maybe StaBall HD?). The switch to it seems to coincide with the poor performance it has now. As stated on here by one of their engineers, it happened when they could no longer source their usual powders from Aliant and the Hodgdon Extreme lines (around the beginning of 2021, apparently).

There are really only two Chinese core manufacturers out there Yentai-Iray and Wuhan Global Sensors. Cores from both were banned in USA by the State and Treasury Departments on 1 May 2024, though AFAICT have never been enforced. Not sure why that is.
All the Chinese thermals use one of those "APEX" cores ... and almost all thermals under $5k are Chinese (FLIR Breach is exception), no matter what the brand name, including brands like "Lieca", "Steiner" etc. A few brands are 95% chinese parts with a few non-chinese parts thrown in, like Pulsar (mostly all chinese but a few models have a non-chinese part or two), Sig (same).

So picking over the chinese thermals is just picking a different brand name, with the same stuff underneath. Chinese love brand name proliferation. How many products do you see on Amazon that are the same chinese product with a different brand name ? Answer? Many, Many, Many (most).

So pick your favorite chinese brand name and get to it !!! :)

DPG Action Update 5-6-25

I've been sitting in the bleachers on this one and after watching how Kenny and others speaking on behalf of what he's doing is handling things, I'm quite impressed. The work that Kenny is putting into his action, and the reason's he's doing it, is admirable and I'm rooting for his company. Its guys and companies like this that are the future of our community.

Also, I'll address something that I likely don't have to, but to the comments (on FB) regarding burrs and machine marks, I get it. Been there myself and been through this process more than I can count, but it's completely normal to remove non production validated parts during the initial phases of production to see how they're working and there's excitement to share associated with the process.
Rock on, Kenny, I'm pulling for you.

I wan’t to do this, I just suck at arts and crafts bs
Easiest non artistic way to paint is to make “X’s” with 2-3 colors.

Both of these took zero time. AR’s are even easier because they have bumps etc so it breaks up large pieces of one color.

The MC I taped, wiped down and sprayed while the grill was warming up for burgers one day after work. Literal 15 min.

The Vudoo was a little longer because my son wanted to help. He was playing Fortnite and liked a snow camo he saw. He was shooting the 22 a ton so we played around.

Not sure if you can do it…cover the whole rifle with blue painters tape. If it looks like crap just peel it off.

What I do in the winter is tape over my hunting stuff with hockey grip tape. Already has a white base and hit it with a few gray and brown stripes. Come spring I just peel it off and I’m back to what ever color it was originally.

A bit of the right liquid inspiration and you’ll find your confidence to get it done.

Plus you don’t need that BS in Arts and Crafts…
