Bartlein vs PVA Osprey

I
Same here. Bartlein are excellent and so are the Ospreys. Have used the Bartlein for many years and the Ospreys since they came out and you really can’t go wrong with either.

Super easy to order up an Ospreys prefit on the PVA site and @bohem Josh will get it to you how you want it for length and contour etc. He does great work also as he has been doing barrels for me even before he offered Ospreys so I know his work is top notch.
ll add that Josh throws a little secret sauce into his reamer spec’s. I’ve yet to have one of his barrels that wasn’t fantastic.

Bartlein vs PVA Osprey

I’ve had and have multiples of them both, both shoot tiny groups and both clean up well.

CZ 457 MTR ammo?

I’m looking to see what ammo others are running for 100 yards in there 457 MTR I’ve been using SK RED,SK Orange,Federal gold std,CCI MM so far none of these have given me any consistent results.im using accu-tac bipod with a barrier on table, bags or ears on rear,Athlon 6X24X50 have action torqued at 20in/lb .AT 50 yards its getting consistent 1/2 groups down to one ragged hole with 5 shots ,at 100 she really opens up 1 1/2 to 2 inches and greater at times.
You can't just try a box of each and then declare that each ammo performs a certain way. The performance of rimfire ammo varies as much from lot to lot within the same ammo line as it does from one type of ammo to another.

You need to determine how much you want to spend on ammo. Then get a few boxes of different lots of ammo in that price range. Many shoot Eley Match in the black box.

The Match ammo is the same as others in the vertical line. Same machines that produce Team are producing Match. The only difference is that when each lot is tested, the lots that perform less consistently are labeled Team and those that perform more consistently are labeled match. You are paying for consistency.

Its the same with SK. Standard plus is the same as long range Match. Long range Match costs more because its more consistent.

When I choose lots to try, I usually go by velocity. My rifle tends to favors ammo rated at about 1050 per second.

These days, Ive been using SK Long range Match as my good ammo and standard plus as my practice ammo. I use SK semi auto for informal shooting.

Maggie’s THE "NOM NOM NOM" THREAD

That pineapple was actually not a big one. Here’s a couple larger ones we picked on Monday.

As to the preparation suggestions, I like them all, but I’m the only one at home that likes a Hawaiian style pizza.

We’ve already eaten the top right one just as fruit. You can see that I let them get past what most people think is ripe. They have to be a dark orange and you can smell the pineapple without cutting them. That way the fruit is so sweet and delicious and doesn’t have that acidic bite most store bought have.

With this many and more coming, I’ll take one down to my parents this weekend for them and probably cut a couple up to freeze for putting in with strawberries for jam. Freezing the pineapple first helps reduce the effect of the enzymes that keep pineapple jam from jelling.

It’s also easy to take some out of the freezer for making a dish using pineapple.

What a good gunsmith

I've had really good experiences with Triggered Precision Machine in Idaho.

Here's a video of a barrel TPM did for me. It's perfect.

Diagnosing Case Separation and Bolt Lug Wear on 6 ARC Rifle

There is no reason to do any of that stuff. His rifling pulled a bullet out of the case. We know the bullet hit the rifling. We know 100s if not 1000s if not 10 of 1000s of people are shooting 6arc hornady ammo. We can be 99.9% certain the problem is with the chamber and the throat is too short.

We don't know who not to buy a barrel from until they get their reamer sorted out. Or what the OP is going to have to go through to get it fixed.

New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me

In 2019 I had my first chance at a monster 12 point whitetail. I had just got into custom rifles and long range shooting. Practiced shooting out to 800yds, made a dope card, practiced reading wind, etc… finally saw this monster 12 pointer pop out with a perfect 200yd shot, couldn’t have been easier. I set up & my heart is pounding and I’m breathing heavy. I pull the trigger and see an antler fly up in the air! Well, I forgot to reset my elevation turret to zero after my last 800yd practice session and ended up shooting off an antler from a smaller buck that was about 20yds behind it. I cry myself to sleep to this day thinking about that moment, I have yet to see or harvest another whitetail buck that big.

Buck fever is a bitch, ain’t it? First shot right on, second shot right on. Then he jumped and I fired a wild third shot… clipping a beautiful rack.
