Which 18” 5.56 Barrel

The RTR’s are a fantastic option/value for the price. I may grab one myself soon. Was gonna grab the SOLGW SPR (curious to check out the 3 groove polygonal rifling) but they are out of stock everywhere.
This is what kills me about barrels lately. Everything is out of stock. I usually just pick the best option with the shortest lead time, even if it costs more.

6.5 Creedmoor

I wasnt really looking for any specific velocity as I have no idea what right looks like for this bullet/cartridge combo, as I've never shot the 153's before. This was my first serious load work up in it. I just started a little before book max and began working up slowly like normal. I'm just wondering why I'm getting pressure signs of this size when I was a grain & a half at least below book max.

I started searching this thread. I saw a 2640 MV from a 26" barrel and a few others close to that MV. I personally wouldn't want to be any higher than that myself or I'd probably be question myself all the time if my brass will last

Maybe back down just a tad and keep it 2610 ish?

Tikka T1x metal magazine housing

I did call them and Beretta is not selling them for rifles released after 2022, so for all rifles made after 2022 you need to send them to Beretta. I created first parts request since this is very easy to replace the part and they refused it, they sent me shipping label to send them the rifle for warranty repair since my rifle is only about 8 months old. My rifle is at Beretta right now, but I know it isn only question of time when this issue will happen again.
So, as I am not familiar with the T1X, can this part become an issue for a rifle that has been moved to a chassis such as the PDC or MDT XRS?

I did something similar. I started with 3 boxes of Berger 144 gr LRHT ammo for break in and to get used to the chassis setup. I then worked up a load and tested for how far off the lands with 1x fired brass.

I am up to ~300 rounds on the barrel. Yesterday I loaded up 30 rounds (now 3x fired brass) above and below the initial load. I did add neck mandrel sizing and neolube to my process. The preferred charge has not changed but the avg speed is up ~30fps and the SD has tightened (<7). I’m at just under 0.5MOA at 100 yards.

26 in CRB 1:8 twist on an Impact 737
Lapua LP 3x fired brass
Federal GM210 primers
41.6 gr H4350
0.030 off the lands
TBAC Magnus SR
Avg speed is now 2780 fps (10 rounds).

Barrel flats, any one use them?

How much torque can you impart with that?
I will be honest, I am not sure. I give it a snap and it requires the wrench to get the barrel lose again.

Personal anecdote:
When I first got the AI, I had to decide between keeping it or my DT SRS A1. I did a Return to Zero test where I shot 10 rounds at a single POA while removing the barrel completely between each shot. All were <0.7" which with whatever box Hornady match I was using at the time meant the deviation was within my shooting capabilities. Of course your mileage may very, so always test your own rifles to verify.

I mean how much more above 2650 did you want to be at, especially with a not so long barrel.

I think low 2600s is where it's at.

What's everyone getting for the Berger 153's out of a 24" barrel? (bolt rifle) I'm already getting pierced primers at 2647fps with 39.7 of H4350, with the bullet seated 2.140" BTO. I'm right off the lands with a clean chamber and bore. I heard the federal small primers can do this so I loaded this with the standard CCI's. Started getting hard bolt lift on top of that at 39.9 grains. Hodgdons max is 41gr and I think Bergers was something a tad above that.

Many around here who took the jab now showing same.

I always felt the same way. I'm married. Two kids. Mortgage. All the usual bills that come with life in the modern age. There was serious talk in the plant I work in of requiring the vax to work there. The wife and I talked about it. There was no choice to be made. If it came down to it, I was going to be looking for another way to feed my family. Some of us are just different.
This is what pushed a lot of people into becoming self employed. You will never get those folks back into working for someone else ever again.

Htx barrels? Anyone shooting one

That looks great. I have a SR25 ECC and I got tired of waiting for shorter SR25 6.5CM uppers to get released. Here is a Cartel K1 6.5CM 16 inch dimpled by Templar. Pairing with a Centurian SR25 pattern Upper and KAC Keymod URX4 15 inch. Not sure on Gas Block. and probably go FDE for the whole thing. I was told that they are using cut rifled Rock Creek blanks.

Picture of weight. Unfortunately I didn't weigh it before the dimpling.
