Ross Precision Machine (Paul Ross)

I just got a new barrel from Paul and took it to the range yesterday. It's a 16" 223 Wylde Bartlein barrel, standard heavy contour. Platform is a factory DDM4V7 lower/upper/bolt.

No load development, just used some ammo I already had on hand. 77 SMK's 23.2gr XBR8208 loaded to 2.26" in Lake City brass with CCI 450's, on a Dillon progressive. Fired 15 shots to get roughly zeroed and the barrel fouled, then shot a 7 round group. Side note - this was at 100 yards with a 1-8x power scope. It's super hard to aim precisely without magnification, I'm used to shooting with my 7-35x ATACR. 🙂

6 shots in under a half inch, with the 7th shot flyer making it a 3/4" group. The black aiming dots are 1/3" diameter.

Super happy with the results, would gladly endorse him for future work.

Firearms GAP M40A1 and M40A3 on USMC return stocks, built by Eric Reid circa 2005

GAP M40A1 and M40A3 built on USMC return stocks by Eric Reid

I’m selling two M40A rifles built by Eric Reid at GA Precision (“fireplug” armorer’s stamp), circa 2005. I am the original owner of the M40A1 and later purchased the M40A3. Both of these rifles are built on USMC return stocks furnished to GAP by McMillan, part of a unique offering during that era. At the time of their build, both rifles met USMC specifications, according to George Gardner at GAP. The A1 has fired approximately 100 rounds and the A3 roughly 500 rounds. They have the original mil-spec barrels from GAP.

The M40A3 was built on stock #4 in the image below. I've also owned and sold another M40A3, built by Eric Reid on return stock #7 in the image below.

At this time I have only these two GAP M40A rifles for sale; the prices do not include any optics, scope ring mounts, bipods or other accessories. The tan vintage MRT leather sling on the M40A1 is included with that rifle, as well as the Picatinny rail and one magazine for each rifle. The optics in the images may be offered for sale at a later time. If you’re confused about what’s included, please send me a PM for clarification.

  • (SOLD PENDING FUNDS) GAP M40A1 rifle on a USMC “smear” return stock with 1 magazine and tan MRT sling: $6900 including shipping to an FFL.
  • (SOLD PENDING FUNDING) GAP M40A3 rifle on Krylon-painted USMC return stock with 1 magazine: $8300 including shipping to an FFL.
Each rifle will be shipped by “ShipMyGun.com” to an FFL in your local area. We will work out the shipping and payment details.

The above prices are firm, I don’t need any long gun trades, please don’t offer any. I would consider a Staccato C2 or P model 2011 in partial trade – send pix and details. The rifles are located in northern NV.

Ukraine war Bullshit.

To quote my god father when I was a kid, who spent a lot of time in and around the middle east. " We can't let Iran have nukes, because they are crazy enough to use them."

I think we have all witnessed Russia's restraint over the past 3 years.

I just had a conversation with some one about Ukraines recent drone attack on RU's airfields. I expressed my concern of using civilian trucks as launch platforms and the retort was well when my country is getting attacked(speaking in defence of what Ukraine has endured) every thing is on the table. My response was, well whats stopping Russia from flattening all of their cities if all options are on the table... well then NATO would step in... so you want to push a Nuclear exchange with Russia over Ukraine? Answer was well no.... That ended that.
Your line of thinking is completely nonsensical and you're only able to parrot the russias only response to losing a thousand men and irreplaceable hardware daily.. "don't forget muh noooks! canned sunshine!"

Speaking of, are we two weeks past 30% of their bomber fleet being yeeted? Was the drone terror attack on civilian population centers their response and now the russia wants everyone to forget they allowed the corrupt and incompetent ukrops to embarrass and dunk on their nuclear triad?

Ukraine war Bullshit.

Are you really going to forget this thread?
Do it
And where did ballistic missiles come from in Iran?
And nuclear technologies?
Where they originated from has no bearing on anything at this point. The fact is that they have it and the continuing knowledge going forward. What those elected officials in power decide to neutralize is the fundamental aspect. Currently it isn’t Ukraine. AIPAC has ensured that. This is the cold hard facts of geopolitics.

Rifle Scopes March 5-42 Gen 2 PRS Edition

Thanks for the video.

Hey does the G2 PRS edition still focus down to 10Y? Also how generous is the eyebox compared to the other brands if compared at a mid magnification like 15x?
Yes it will parallax down to 10 yards. The eyebox is on par with the rest of the industry none of the folks that hand shot behind of have had any issue using the optic.

Precision Rifle Gear Accutac WB-4 vs Atlas bt10 for prone shooting

I've had or have pretty much every bipod except the 5000 dollar sky/skcye/cyscke/ckyscke pod, and in my opinion there's no comparison; the accutacs are just a super solid pod in every respect. Both the legs and cant lock up super tight, but are very quick and easy to adjust. I love my atlas but it just doesnt lock up like an accutac. Except for the old rifles or clones where they're wearing the old harrises, I'm currently fitting an accutac to everything I own now. One thing I did to make them a little faster is to relieve some of the leg spring tension by backing the set screw out a tad and re-threadlocking them so it's easy to pull the legs out. They still lock up just as solid too.
It was hard to choose between all the models for me. If you could only pick one of the accutacs as an all-around bipod which is your favorite?
