group by on M40a1 barrels

They are working their way thru. Sometime in July is still good or even late this month. I checked on them 2 weeks ago and all were getting contoured. Then to bore reaming, prelapping and are in rifling right now. So just waiting they're turn in the rifling machine. King Louie will be rifling them. His name is Louie but I call him King Louie.

Pretty much anytime now. Once they get back to shipping... shipping will start getting a hold of guys for final payment or ask for payment if you haven't sent in the deposit as of yet.

Later, Frank
Thank you for the update!

FRT's - What is good? And what is Rare Breeds real website?

In case anyone is perturbed by RB patent trolling all the SS producers and trying to stamp out affordable FRT availability, here is the GoFundMe legal defense fund site for some of the SS producers responding to RBs lawsuits.

Zermatt origin barrel on TL3 action

Can this be done with a barrel nut prefit? I understand that if it's a shouldered prefit it would need the spacer.

But can a barrel nut prefit just be headspaced out and torqued?
I would think u could but my origin barrels are all proof shouldered pre fits. Im probably going to call in a favor at the machine shop i use to work at if no one can point me in the right direction to buy one. I wish someone would make a lug that was .250 think and had the .100 spacer on the front.

Is the new "custom" dies worth the extra money?

For those trying to be competitive at the highest level (benchrest, F-Class), not spending the extra couple hundred on dies can potentially be a handicap. However, I've followed a guy on YouTube who is a long range benchrest national champion (Bruce Teel)... and you'd be pretty amazed at his comparatively inexpensive reloading setup. It very much contradicts the guys touting the need for $10K's worth of equipment on a reloading bench.

The OP's question was if dies costing hundreds were necessary for 1/2 - 3/4 MOA loads... they are not. Your cheapest dies and press are capable of that, as long as the dude assembling the ammo is consistent about his processes.

That also doesn't mean that the finest dies aren't worth it to some people too. A lot of guys can't shoot an AI better than a RPR, but that doesn't justify passing on the Accuracy International for the Ruger if you just want an AI. Same with reloading equipment

It's the internet, and everyone who doesn't agree with you will automatically assume that you're retarded. Unfortunately, that frequently boils down to them not simply having the same experiences as you. I've built some fantastic ammo over the years with $35 (at the time) RCBS dies. I stopped buying new sets due to QC issues that I got twice in a row. So now I'm a Forester and Redding guy. I still use my old RCBS sets though. If one thinks that those old dies aren't capable of consistent bugholes...

Long gong

I'm about as far away as you could get within MA. Likely a 4+ hr ride to the New Bedford area by the cape. My bet is that there is/will be somebody running a match much closer if you hunt around. Maybe ask over on the Long Gong Facebook page.
That’s definitely a good haul from me, for some reason I was think something different but the cape is technically the most south east part.
