Got any HAM radio people on here ?

Inherited some radio equipment from my grandfather and now I'm looking into getting my license. One of the radios is an HF rig and the other is a two meter Kenwood TR7400-A.

Looking into the 2 meter got me looking at the ht's. Seems they would be handy for communication in a shtf scenario. But which ht to buy ? Leaning to the yaesu ft-60 or ft-70 at the moment. I like tte 60 for its ability to run on AA batteries. I'm not real crazy about the baofing. What is everybody else using ?

12” 308 chamber & twist recommendations

I’ve got a SBR’d CDG & a Nighstalker waiting on a barrel. I think I’ve settled on a 12” 308 and will primarily shoot 110-125s but would also like to shoot some subs.
Was thinking a 1-10 should be fine but why not go 1-8 twist and would you pick a different chamber for shorter bullets since subs can be loaded deeper in the case?

Thanks for the help

Firearms Bergara B14 Wilderness HMR 308 With Scope and Bipod

Rifle:
It is the.308 Win model of the B-14 Wilderness HMR bolt-action rifle with a capacity of 5 rounds in the magazine and +1 in the chamber. This model is coated in Sniper Grey Cerakote and is right-handed. The barrel has a length of 20 inches, and an overall length of 40 inches. The adjustable cheek rest is currently set for my use but is easily adjusted. There are some other rests that can be used to swap out the original, as well as pads that can be secured to the original cheek rest for more comfort. The weight of the rifle is 9.5 lbs. The full model number is B14S371. If you aren't used to the weight, you might consider this rifle to be heavy or clunky. I'd recommend using a rear squeeze bag.

Scope:
Comes with the scope already mounted. The scope is a Burris Fullfield IV 6-24x50mm, 30mm tube. The scope adjusts in 1-4 MOA, reticles are Ballistic E3 (model number 200495, non-illuminated model), has a total length of 15.6 inches, and weighs 24.8 ounces (per manufacturer). The scope is mounted using Weaver rings, 6-hole tactical to help keep the scope secure, are 30mm, medium matte (0.370 inches, 5.6 ounces), using a Bergara 20 MOA picatinny rail (Bergara/Rem 700 LA Black).

Bipod:
FAB Defense SPIKE Tactical Precision Bipod, black, picatinny attachment, has a height range of 180-290mm, rotates, and weighs 0.405 kgs. To the best of my knowledge, FAB did not create interchangeable feet for the bipod. The bipod is connected to the rifle using an Area 419 Improved Bipod Picatinny Rail. It has 10 slots, with an opening in the center of the rail to allow for the placement of various screw-hole distances (1.5-3.475 inches). The rail has a total weight of 0.2 lbs. and is composed of aluminum.

As stated, the rifle weighs 9.5 lbs. With the scope, bipod, and mounting accessories, the rifle weighs slightly more than 13 lbs. without ammunition.

The rifle bag is a 41-inch x 12-inch Savior Equipment American Classic, double rifle case. The divider is attached by Velcro down the seam. To accommodate the bolt and scope, I removed the divider. To protect the firearm, I laid a towel over the rifle before securing it with the two internal Velcro straps.

I bought the rifle brand new from Cabela's in June (I have all of the paperwork, if you would like more information). After ordering, I consulted with our gunsmith for him to procure the Burris scope and mounting accessories. After the rifle was available for pickup (June 19th), I was able to immediately take it to our gunsmith to have the scope mounted and have it zeroed at 100 yards. After zeroing, he ran several rounds through it (I don't remember if it was seven or eight). I still have the receipt for the work our gunsmith did, which includes the scope and accessories that he ordered for us. Less than a dozen rounds have been run through the Bergara, and he cleaned it before we picked it up.

I have been using my brother's bore cleaning rod guide, so I don't have one to include, but you can pick up a high quality one for less than $50 online (before tax and shipping).

If you want to see any other receipts, or links to any of the before-mentioned products, just let me know.

I am downsizing my collection some and I wasn't able to part with my other firearms, I haven't had time to use the Bergara, I recently moved and live in the city, the closest distance range is quite a ways away and would like to make an effort in exploring other interests with my fiancé.

Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of shot groupings. Everything is in superb condition.

I am asking for $1,650. That will include the rifle, scope, scope mounting accessories, bipod, bipod mounting accessories, the rifle bag (if you want the divider that separates the two-rifle partition, I will send that as well), the shipping, an FFL transfer, one box of 20 rounds of Hornady Black .308 WIN ammo (168 grain A-MAX, 2,700fps, #80971), and one box of 20 rounds of Federal Premium Gold Medal ammo (168 grain Sierra MatchKing, 2,650fps, #GM308M). I am located in Ohio, so if you are nearby, we could eliminate a step or two. I can remove the bipod for shipment, as well as remove and wrap the scope, if you prefer.
