LMT Barrel conversion review and accuracy report, before conversion vs. after D Wilson conversion

I'm going to post a quick review, as I was unable to find much information relating to LMT barrel conversion accuracy, specifically relating to how a barrel performed before sending it to D Wilson for conversion versus post conversion results.

I'm happy to say accuracy seems unchanged following the barrel conversion, which is to say it is very good.

I used the exact same ammunition, loaded on the same day with the same lots of components. This is hand loaded 77 grain Sierra match king, but other ammunition from AAC produced repeatable results as well. All groups were 10 rounds fired at 100 yards.

The barrel I'm focusing on today is a 16" Bartlein 223 from Craddock Precision. Prior to sending it off, I fired this group from a mocked up traditional AR upper:

I just came back inside from firing this group post D Wilson conversion:

That high shot was my first round, some of that might have been me, dealing with 20-30 mph wind and I'm not necessarily a precision shooter. That said, I'm very pleased with the results. I wanted to document my very unscientific findings, just in case anyone was curious.

Accessories MPA Matrix Pro Chassis and DN5 Brake

Price: $1250
Shipping: UPS to lower 48, buyer pays
Location: Metro Atlanta for local pickup

SEND ME A PM TO COMMUNICATE! I don't use the comments section on listings to answer questions or deal.

MPA Matrix Pro Chassis was purchased in 2023 and used in about 20 matches. Freshly applied Tuff Armor Black Cerakote on 1/9/2025 by a certified applicator and it looks brand new. The applicator said the factory MPA finish was the worst finish he's ever seen on a chassis, so this is an upgrade over even a new one. It was bedded for an Impact 737R action, but the bedding material has been removed so you can bed whatever action you desire. Details of the chassis are as follows:
  • Adjustable bag rider
  • Adjustable length of pull
  • Adjustable padded cheek riser
  • MPA vertical 3 grip installed
  • Finger block
  • Thumb rest
  • 2 round holder
  • GrayOps Matrix Pro external weights (aluminum)
  • Front bridge with Picatinny rail
  • Full length magwell plate
  • Adjustable magazine slide
  • Matrix Pro RAT RAIL
It will come with the accessories shown in the plastic container, which includes an MPA data card, two thumb rest variants, two finger block variants, a stubby bag gripper for the magwell, and MPA vertical 2 grip.

The MPA DN5 brake was purchased in March 2024 and used maybe 10 times. It has been cleaned in a ultrasonic tank. Thread: 5/8-24

Precision Rifle Gear Kestrel 5700 min, max, avg wind help!

I have a 5700 elite ab and I am probably average with the kestrel. I had it set up a few months ago with the wind speed to be showing the min, max, and avg in the weather mode. I went to try it at a match this last weekend it it’s not there now and I can’t find it on there anywhere. When I select wind speed all that is showing is the actual wind speed. I have toggled through the settings that you can turn on and off to see in the weather mode and almost like it’s gone. Anyone know where to find it?

SOLD Armasight Sidekick 640 Thermal w/ PVS14 Pano Bridge

WTS: LNIB: Armasight Sidekick 640 with the PVS14 pano bridge!

Comes with the battery extender, two CR123s, a USB-C cord, latest firmware, spare rechargeable battery, case, original box, and quick start sheet. (Basically, everything that it came with and a pano bridge and rechargeable battery.)

$2300.00

I took pictures as best as I could, but I’m not good at taking pictures through the unit.

The visual quality of the image is much better than these pictures.

Firmware is included so you know the unit is up-to-date. Pictures through the unit are so that you know it works. It’s got a little less than an hour on it. Selling to fund a very expensive scope.

PVS-4 focus grabby- frustrated

Upon reassembling my PVS-4, the objective focus ring becomes grabby (tight and not smooth) once the internal o-ring becomes compressed.
I noticed a white lubricant when I first received the scope, which I assume was lithium grease, so that is what I reapplied after having cleaned the threads as best I could.
Looking at the manual, silicon grease is mentioned for lubricating the o-rings, but no other lubrication is mentioned for the focus ring threads. Are these supposed to run dry? I'm wondering if the grease is actually causing the problem if those threads are not designed to be lubricated. Thanks for any first-hand advice.

What caused this odd primer strike range brass?

Sorting brass this morning, never seen a primer strike like this.

This was out of an unknown rifle as this is range brass.

Is this out of a hobbed out AR 15 that had years of abuse, causing a hobbed out firing pinhole?

The weird thing is that it’s a perfect oblong circle around the firing pin hole mark.

Does someone knows this a primer that comes that way? Looks like it was from 2018.

Rifle Scopes NF 5-25 or 7-35

Hello all, i have a JP LRP-07 (in 6.5cr if that matters) and i'll be shooting at my local range oftentimes at 100yds, but will be stretching it out to 500-1000 several times a year.

In addition to that, my eyes are getting older and it's getting hard to spot hits on paper with like a 1-8. So i'm looking to get in a bit closer.

Given these variables, would you opt for a 5-25 or a 7-35? I've heard good things about the 4-20 as well, but i rarely see them come up for sale.

Would love to hear experienced opinions about this. Thanks.
