Accessories SPF

Hey folks,
This is not one I’ve seen on here before. We bought this last year as a major investment into moving targets for our range. It is really one of few options at the not 55k price range that allows you the flexibility of a remote controlled mover for active scenarios, and has the gallery mode programming that will allow it to run on a 2x4 track ( a great hands free feature when trying to teach). Alas, we wanted to try and use if for some area’s outside its intended design and we couldn’t get it to do what we wanted. BUT it’s an awesome unit. You can literally stand on it and ride cross country. Please check out the companies website for more info. It’s extremely robust, handles all sorts of terrain, comes with a full 3D dummy (unused) two sets of the normal battery’s and a 700$ upgrade to the lithium batteries with incredible run time. The remote has a 1k range and with the flick of a switch it enters gallery mode allowing you to have a live range engaging a mover while you work with the students without babysitting it. It can be upgraded to turning and auto resetting targets if needed. And Motoshot is an excellent company with awesome customer support.
This package with the upgraded battery probably cost us about 9,700$ we need to recoup funds for our plan B(please sweet baby J) and are willing to part with it for 5700$ which is a steal considering it probably has a total of an hour of runtime. There is some spalling on the armored body but its just the paint and is totally normal when running a steel target on top
We are flexible with payment options but shipping will be negotiated depending on the customer. We are located in E New Mexico and would love to find someone within a reasonable driving distance to meet up with. But contact me and we can figure something out. Just want it to go to a good home. Now is the time to be the baddest boy on the block with your own mover. Or outfit your local range, or make a major upgrade to your departments training at a fair price. Shoot me any questions you might have. Thanks

Really not looking to trade anything, but if we were it would be a Zco with tremor or a PVS 27/30. Thanks

Night Vision Photonis PD-Pro-B review

So if you were following Eliteuas' thread, the first batch arrived this week and Fedex delivered it just in time for the new moon this Saturday!

First impression, they certainly nailed the presentation. It came in this massive SKB case and quite a few accessories including counter weights+ pouch, sacrifical filters, and more.

Coffee mug is for scale and not included...

The first thing you notice about the unit is definetly its size, I've played with many different NVGs/Housings (DTNVG/DTNVS, PVS31A, RNVG, and MOD3) and these are without a doubt the most compact unit Ive handled.

A quick comparison of size between a couple units
LD0kecZl.jpg

When I ordered the PD-PRO-Bs the intention was to do a direct comparision with a set of PVS-31As. Sadly I've since let go of the 31As, but did snap photos when I had them.

Note: its a cheap $10 kitchen scale, im not sure actual weight is accurate as its not certified, but am confident in it determining relative weight.

Getting into the nuts of it, went out with a couple of buddies last night during the new moon in woods. So there was no illumination except starlight. The photos were taken at places more than a few hundred yards away from artificial light. Photonis PD-Pro-B on the left and L3 24UA tubes (tubes were as nice as the ones in the 31As I had) on the right.

Photos were taken with a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. I did not tweak the settings, just selected the photo tab and snapped pics. This left the phone to select the appropriate setting. So with this in mind, the pics are slightly different from "to the eye" and of course its always hard to compare photos in general to "to the eye".

To the eye, the photonis set did not have as high of a gain as the L3 did; they appered not as "bright" side by side. So if you were to just go by this initial quick 5 sec look thru; many would say the photonis was just not as good.

But, although the photonis is not as bright, the level of detail/definition (which the photos illustrate) is not much lower. Like how eyes after a period of time adapts to the dark, the lower gain does not equate to far lower performance. I would describe the photonis set as similar in picture to tubes with manual gain turned down. While I can say L3 is still the best at low light performance, these photonis tubes doesnt seem to be far off. In high light of course thats where the photonis set shined.

I didnt take photos of high light enviroments, but in situations where the L3 was showing temp burns (thus I didnt want to hold the tube there to snap a pic) the photonis was chugging along just fine.

Final thoughts: These are the only set of binos I was able to fit into a Raine PVS-14 Padded case (31As included) or for that matter my pants pockets( which was kind of a "whoa!" moment). These are the only metal articulating binos option on the market and I've have no doubt, like RNVGs, they are built like a tank(yet lighter than 31As). So if stowability and ruggedness are important, these bino fit the bill. Horta was right lol. From a commercial standpoint If you live somewhere where the popuation density is meaured in miles, the nearest street lamp is not in view, its your first set of binos and all you want it pure low light performance; these are not for you. But for those who are in suburban or urban environments, I think these binos are great. Not to mention a Gucci bug out bag.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Home Defense Suggestions

How about some recommendations for a home defense pistol? Here’s my requirements.

1. Semi-auto, not a wheel gun
2. Must have an old-school thumb safety
3. Must be Washington state compliant
4. Full-size. It’s not for concealed carry.
5. Easy to shoot accurately.
6. Not a 1911
7. One of the common calibers (9, 10, 40, 45)
8. Would like to be able to put a laser sight on it.

I don’t care if it’s metal or plastic, don’t care how it looks, don’t care how much it weighs. My upper limit would probably be $800, but if there’s a utilitarian but reliable pistol for $400, even better.

Accessories MDT Elite internal weight

1 piece MDT internal weight for the elite chassis. I had a moment of stupid and bought this without reading and I have the premier, doesn’t fit.

Never installed, pulled out of the box long enough for a face palm moment.

120 from MDT, I’ll take 85 shipped.

I take PayPal, Venmo, and cashapp. My bank doesn’t do Zelle.

Thanks.

What a good gunsmith

Just picked up my lone peak fusion action and have a 6.5mm bartlein barrel i want to turn into a 6.5cm and need a good gunsmith to chamber my barrel. Originally I was gunna do a prefit but more and more Im thinking im going to send in my action and have them custom cut it for my action to eek out as much precision as I can. I know bugholes is a great place especially for prefits but idk about custom chamberings? I know sac does custom jobs. Does anyone have experience with their barrel work? Anyone else you can think of that you know does great work throw me a comment and let me know.
Thanks
