25 creedmoor neck tension help

Trying to determine which sizing die or neck bushing size to buy for my 25 cm.
Using alpha brass and a 21st century. 255 expander mandrel (actually its the black nitride turning arbor which is 2 thou under bullet diameter)
Right now with the Virgin alpha brass the mandrel just plops right into the case, while the .256 expander i also have will actually expand the neck but im not sure if I want to run 0.001 (or 0.0015 with spring back) yet. Maybe I will later once the rifle tells me what it likes.

But right now should I just go with the Virgin alpha brass neck tension the way it is? Seems like they are all pretty uniform but I don't have pin gauges and can't really trust my mitotoyo to that degree.

Also looking at the f class products 25 creedmoor sizing die in the 282 neck od for my sizer...is that going to be sufficient in giving me enough initial neck tension so I can then expand using the 2 thou mandrel? Or do I need to look at the SAC bushing die

Knife sharpening for dummies

I have never been especially good at sharpening knives. The only sharpeners I ever use are the pull through ceramic type but I don't think they put the best edge on pocket knives.

What's a simple system that will get your knife 8/10 sharp with minimal skill? I am considering just collecting all my pocket knifes and taking them to a local guy that charges $5 but that's kind of a headache.

SOLD Arken SH-4J GENII 6-24x50 BNIB

Brand new in the box, includes all the stuff that comes in there, plus the Arken throw lever I added. Scope, sunshade, bikini covers, stickers, cleaning cloth, battery, Arken throw lever. Sorry the sunshade's not in the pics but it IS included, and brand new, just like everything else. Reticle is the VPR (Christmas tree/precision one, not the hunter style), in MILs.

Second gen with the Japanese glass. I still have one of these on a gun but I'm spring cleaning over here. This is a great scope for the dough.

  • LIFETIME NO QUESTIONS ASKED WARRANTY on the housing
  • The articulating design allows users to use one eye or both eyes enabling the simultaneous use of a thermal optic or other non-passive aiming systems. Custom Night Visions offers the Manticore-R with the following tube options:
  • L3Harris 20UA Filmless White Phosphor – Aviation Spec
  • L3Harris 20UA Supergain Filmless White Phosphor – Aviation Spec
  • Elbit White Phosphor
  • Photonis White Phosphor (no manual gain functionality for photonis tubes at this time)
SuperGain Filmless White Phosphor image intensifier tubes increase the Luminance Gain (Gain) specification for image intensifier tubes from the standard 40,000-80,000 fL/fc to between 100,000-120,000 fL/fc. This greatly increases the image intensifier’s ability to amplify and collect light, resulting in a noticeably brighter image with increased low light performance and extending operational envelope and ability to see into dark areas.

We offer three choices of Optics:
  1. Standard Mil Spec Optics
  2. Rochester Precision Optics (RPO) 3.0 Ultralight
  3. Photonis Defense Boomslang 50 Degree FOV

A "Bun" on the Nogen!

I recently made a post in the MPT about a guy who posts video shorts from YouTube that depict both the IDF and the Israeli Border Patrol etc. out on patrol in Jerusalem. You can see them on patrol armed/slung with AR and AK type rifles, etc. Here's a sample (there are more on his YouTube Channel):

If you look at the sample, you see a lot of uniformed female IDF and Border patrol soldiers. All of them have either "free flowing" or long braided pony tails. If I'm not mistaken, it is a "requirement" in the US Military (certainly the Marine Corps) and most if not all US LEAs that such long hair be tied up in a bun. This, for safety reasons. In live "hand-to-hand" combat scenarios, having a long pony tail gives one's opponent something to grab on to, to get an advantage in that combat. With the hair in a bun, it's a bit harder to do that. Not impossible, but harder. Likewise, for LEOs in a "class A" uniform, the "tie" is always a clip on. In case that gets pulled in combat, it will just fly off and not give the combatant any advantage.

Am I correct in re: the requirement for US Military/LE to "bun up" long hair like that? If so, then I'm curious as to how the IDF and Israeli Border patrol get away without doing the same. I can't imagine they don't train for hand-to-hand combat. What gives?

Thoughts?

A word of caution when dealing with snakes...

There are few creatures as beautiful or as deadly as the cobra.

Snakes Vertebrate Reptile Serpent Indian cobra

Naturally, men of our stock are attracted to such critters and for millennia have asked themselves "if only I could harness that beauty & lethality"...and our ancestors have forever thus tried to tame the beast only to find out generations later that the cobra cannot be tamed and once more-we found out that they're quite prolific and reproduce far faster than anticipated.

Did you know a single cobra can lay between 10-30 eggs? I didn't before going down this noble endeavor and before I knew what was happening- I was left with a snake pit as deadly as they are beautiful...

Trigger Air gun Silver Gun barrel Everyday carry

I sought to my elders, I looked towards our ancestors on how I could possibly reign in this den of cobras and wield their strengths while understanding their potential for harm and also appreciating their beauty and suddenly a solution was presented from of all places but the jungles of Vietnam...

I needed a bonafide snake-eater to watch over the rapidly growing snake pit... I searched high & low and found myself a true champion to watch over my flock...

Older Leupold Vari-X III scopes

How do the older Leupold Vari-X III scopes from the 90's compare to what's made today? I have a Vari-X III in 3.5-10 and a 6.5-20 with Duplex reticles that aren't getting used much and thinking about an upgrade. Not sure how desireable these are today.
Thanks.
