Spotters Question about calling out Mills at different distances.

For some reason, I can’t wrap my head around this question if the shooters at 1000 yards using the first vocal plane mil reticle and the spotter is at 500 yards with a fixed mil reticle spotter. Can the spotter still call mil change? For some reason I feel like he should, but the difference in distance makes me question that.

SOLD WTS: Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 SFP MOA NP-R2 Reticle w/ AI Mount

Selling a used Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50. This one is second focal plane and has the NP-R2 benchrest reticle. Dial is in .25 MOA graduations. Scope is in overall pretty good condition with only a few of small blemishes. Glass looks clear, however if you look on the right hand-side (2 o'clock) there is a small piece of debris. Its only visible at low magnification. The glass looks perfect to me, so I dont know if its something within the scope or if it just needs a deep cleaning. Comes with an AI scope picatinny mount (not sure of the cant or height dimensions as it came on a rifle I purchased). DM me with any questions.

Asking $SOLD shipped. Can accept payment via Zelle.

Open to Trades + cash deals. Trades include KAC stuff, AI stuff.

.308, .300WSM, or 6.5PRC in a shorter (~22”) barrel

I’m in the planning stages of building a Frankenstein build to reuse a Bergara Premier action from my previous PRS production gun. My goal is a lightweight hunting rifle that will be used almost exclusively on the east coast for whitetail and black bear. Lightweight is the primary objective. I’ve decided on a barrel nut prefit from Preferred Barrel Blanks in carbon fiber, but I am still torn on cartridge choice. The three I am considering are .308WIN, .300WSM, and 6.5PRC. I’d like to keep barrel length around 20-22” not for weight but for handling characteristics in dense timber.

Would a .300WSM or 6.5PRC be effectively neutered in a barrel that short? If those two would perform the same as .308WIN in an equally short barrel would it just make sense to go with the .308?

Nightforce Ultramount does not sit parallel to Upper

I have a Nightforce Ultramount (20moa Cant) on my AR10 that I am leveling my ATACR. nightforce calls for 100 in/lb on the mount bolts. With roughly 40 in/lb the mount and the upper are perfectly parallel with each other. But I noticed that once I torque to the full 100 in/lb nightforce calls out, the mount is no longer level to the upper. almost as if the mount torqued itself few degrees in one direction.

is this a common issue with scope mounts? Are some mounts more prone to this than others? Any suggestions on what can be done?

Unless I can figure out a solution, I guess im going to have to choice but to level the scope to the mount and not the rifle.

Precision Rifle Gear Turret magnifier

I have a question for those of you who use a turret magnifier. I see them mounted at 12 oclock in a lot of pictures. If you mounted one at 10 or 10:30 for a right handed shooter, would it work well to see the turret with your left eye without breaking position/lifting your head? I'm thinking about getting one, but I'm concerned the magnifier won't work since it would be at an angle in relation to the turret.

I have very limited central vision in my left eye from an injury, so right now I have to pick my head up off the comb to see the turret with my right eye. I'm hoping a magnifier+idts tape with colored markings will make it so I can see well enough with my left eye to adjust the turret without lifting my head up.

Set me straight on LaRue OBR barrels

Hey gang. Looking for a new precision barrel for my original OBR. Found the threads on here with some great recommendations for shops and vendors, thanks for that.

Problem I’m having is best I can tell the OBR doesn’t use a DPMS style barrel extension, it’s proprietary to LaRue. Can I reuse the extension off the LaRue barrel? Never got that deep in the weeds before on one of these. Thanks in advance everyone. Really appreciate the help.
