Setup will be done late Saturday or early Sunday morning by our NorCal crew. Target(s) will be in place at minimum 2000 yards. The initial target distance for NorCal is 2147 yards, all California-legal firearms and ammunition are allowed, no weight restrictions, and no fees.

The Match Director will decide how many shooters need to be signed up to move forward with this event. Unless the event is formally cancelled (as announced on this and other posting sites), assume it is going forward.

IF you want to shoot multiple rifles, you need to complete a registration for each one. If you expect to be shooting with us more than once, I suggest you do yourself a favor and build a text file in your word processor and then just copy and paste. NOTE: IF you seriously think you will score 5 in 10 or better, please DO take the time to enter ALL the info requested in the Build Sheet section - will save me e-mailing you to get missing info and hasten getting results posted on the URSA site (News and Stats pages) and the non-Cal Guns sites. Thanks.

If you want to shoot this event, you MUST sign up ONLINE (see below). Registrations MUST be received no later than 1 PM the day before the event. There will be NO onsite registrations. Substantial additional data regarding URSA events are included on the same web page.

Sign-Ups: URSA uses the online program, Zoho Forms, to capture shooter Liability Releases and Build Sheet data, and spotter/other Liability Releases – Liability Releases are signed and dated at the event. Please use the appropriate link at the top of the Activity/Event Schedule page (http://www.unlimitedrange.org/activity event schedule.html). If you have any problem with the online form, please e-mail me ASAP ([email protected]). Feedback Request - Proposed Order of Operations

Hello,

I shoot recreationally in Phoenix, AZ, mostly at Ben Avery and Cowtown, from 100 to 1000 yards. I do not compete at this time.

I would like to know if you see any fatal flaws or bad logic in my proposed order of operations for 6.5 Creed bolt gun ammo.

My priorities:

*Complete the work fast

*Minimize single step procedures (i.e. weighing and dropping individual charges, applying wax to cases individually, annealing cases individually, etc).

*Obtain better performance than Hornady match ammo

*Process 200-300 cases at a time

Order of Operations:

Step 1 - Collect Fired Brass

Step 2 - Anneal Necks in Giraud Annealer

Step 3 - Spray lube with one shot or similar

Step 4 - De-prime on Dillon 550 Toolhead 1, Station 1 - Lee universal decapping die

Step 5 - FL Resize body on Dillon 550 Toolhead 1, Station 2 - Forster FL Resize die with decapping stem removed

Step 6 - Expand Necks on Dillon 550 Toolhead 1, Station 3 - Pin Gauge Die TBD

Step 7 - Tumble to remove lube

Step 8 - Trim / Chamfer / Deburr on Giraud Trimmer

Step 9 - Prime case on Dillon 550 Toolhead 2, Station 1

Step 10 - Drop powder (Staball 6.5) on Dillon 550 Toolhead 2, Station 2

Step 11 - Seat bullet on Dillon 550 Toolhead 3, Station 3

Thanks for any feedback you can provide!

Advice on Custom 7 mm PRC Rifle with Accuracy Issues

I had a gunsmith build a 7 mm prc using a heavy contour 26” 1-8 twist carbon six barrel. I have the barrel paired with a kelbly atlas lite action and grayboe Phoenix 2 stock. I have a nightforce nx8 scope and nightforce rings on a kelbly rail. I have 210 rounds through this barrel and have tried several good powders (h1000, rl25, retumbo, n565, n570, h4831sc) with hornady 175 eldx and 180 eldm bullets. I am using ADG brass. I cannot get any load to shoot better than about 3/4 moa. For comparison I reload for several factory rifles and have them all shooting below 1/2 moa. I expected to get Accuracy at least this good from this custom build. The gunsmith bedded the action because he thought the stock pillar bedding on the phoenix 2 was causing barrel deflection, but if anything the accuracy got slightly worse.

My gunsmith is recommending that I have the barrel cryogenically treated to improve accuracy. I have read threads on here that seem to have mixed advice on this and I haven't seen anybody discuss doing this on a carbon barrel, although I suppose it would work the same on the steel portion.

Basically I am looking for any and all advice on what to do. I don't claim to be an expert reloader, but with the success I have had with several factory guns, and the combinations I have tried with this gun, I feel confident that the issue is not with the load but with the gun.

FTF Light Primer Strikes. Origin Action/IMI Mk262

I thought I had seen a related thread recently, but I cannot find it now.

I took my new "build" out today for the first time to get it sighted in.

Its a Bighorn Origin with a Hawk Hill 223 Wylde Chamber barrel and TT Special.

I Shot
2014ish Federal 55gr .223 (Just to get on paper at 25yds)
2016 5.56 Magtech MK262 Clone
2023 5.56 IMI MK262 Clone in Commercial packaging
2015 5.56 IMI MK262 Brown Box
2023 5.56 Black Hills Redbox 77gr TMK

Everything shot fine except both of the IMI loads. Lots of FTF due to light primer strikes I guess. All had an indentation, but no bang. I tried to re-fire them all and 2 of 5 or so did fire the 2nd try.
I assume they just have harder primers, but is there anything that can be done? Like a stronger firing pin spring?
Adjusting the TriggerTech Special to a heavier pull wouldn't help would it?
