Debris on Cross Hairs

I have a 9 month old Schmidt and Bender PMII and there is debris of some kind on what I think is the glass with the cross hair etching. It enlarges and shrinks with the reticle as the scope zooms in and out. Is this something S&B would warranty? If so I'm assuming I would have to be sent to them. Does it go to Europe or somewhere in the US? (I'm in the US) Does anyone have any experience with how long it takes S&B to return an optic sent to them for a claim?

DI Precision (about post)

I wanted to take a minute to explain what we are about and what our focus and goals are. I am not a gunsmith or a machinist. I AM a shooter(former hot rodder) and everything I do and think is always from behind the rifle. When I started shooting PRS rimfire in 2017 I had no idea what I was doing other than I like to shoot and being competitive I thought this could be fun, my first rifle was a CZ455 and was somewhat disappointed so I ordered a custom 455 and again was disappointed in the accuracy (side note I learned how to reload for precision from David Tubb over text and I got spoiled on what true precision and accuracy were.) When Vudoo came out my first thought was they are crazy, no one will spend that kind of money on a rimfire, shortly after a guy shows up with a Vudoo and promply wears us out with it, so on the way home I reached out to Vudoo to order a barreled action, after talking a bit I asked if they would make me a deal on 2 and Cole countered with buy 3 and I will set you up as a dealer, DEAL I said and that is how all this started. After I supplied pretty much all the shooters at TX precision matches in Navasota we all quickly found the start of feeding issues that Vudoo got famous for. Now looking back we KNOW it was not the rifle but the way we were using them, We added weight and made magazine blockers long before anything was commercially available. One day after the match as we were discussing our problems I thought what if we had a longer heavier barrel, so a text was made to Paul from Mullerworks and he sent down a 1.250 16 twist blank, balance problems solved and we did not lose the accuracy we were getting from the shorter barrels. Fast forward to I think I can make a business out of this. Now the question was never can we chamber and build an accurate rifle but could we do it consistently over and over in a semi-production format? That sent me CNC shopping and after many calls around the country talking with various shops I ended up with a Doosan 2100 LSYB turning center(remember I am not a machinist so I was as lost as can be but I knew that I did not want to handle the barrel twice to tenon/chamber and then cut the slots on a mill, so a steep learning curve ensued). I made a custom jig to hold the barrel in the hydraulic jaws and off to races we went. Below are a few samples of results we have gotten the last couple of years sending in a few at a time to see where we stood. I also included a few from some customers sending theirs in. The point being I want yall to understand that this is a lifestyle choice I made to build and provide the best product that I can make and feel good about selling it. We test each rifle for accuracy at 50 and 200 yards, If I am not happy it doesn't ship until I am confident that it will perform to the customer's expectations.

МЦ-55 Zenit rifle by Yevgeny Dragunov

Not a sniper rifle, but definitely vintage ( late 50s ) for Olympic competition 300m – I’m looking for information about this weapon.

I came across an advertisement of sale of such a rifle and started to browse the internet. Unfortunately, there is very little information about it. It was developed in 1955 by a team with the participation of Yevgeny Dragunov ( later the creator of the SVD rifle ).

Only 10 “Zenit” rifles were supposed to be produced for the leading sports shooters of the USSR, in the first period of manufacture ( 1956 – 1961 ).
Based on experience from use in the years 1963-73, 110 rifles were produced, but already in the improved version "Zenit-3".

The rifle that is advertised for sale does not have an original stock butt plate, a diopter sight and original Soviet documents are missing and it also has a modern Picatinny rail mounted on the receiver. It looks like it has only flaws.

So why did I get interested in it? Because it has the name "Zenit" engraved on the receiver - without an additional number and the year of production 1957. It would seem that this is a rifle from the first series of only 10 produced. But it also has serial number No. 66 and the theory that it is one of those first ten can unfortunately be questioned. There is a problem with the Soviet numbering system of sports weapons. I already have a Typhoon-3 rifle, of which only 130 were supposed to be produced and mine has serial number M247 and I have also seen a rifle with the number P1321.

So this Zenit with the number "66" may be one of the first 10 rifles produced in this version and the numbering does not reflect the scale of production but there is no evidence for this.

That's why I'm asking if anyone on the forum knows anything more about Zenit rifles?

PVA now offering AR15 barrels!

Josh @bohem from Patriot Valley Arms posted up on Facebook that he is now offering Osprey match grade AR15 .223 Wylde barrels in 16", 18" and 20" length. Anyone who has used the other Osprey barrels knows that they shoot so I don't expect anything less from these barrels. Worth a look if you are looking to get the best accuracy out of your AR platform.

KMW thread

There appears to be a few other topics discussing niche builders of precision rifles.
Terry Cross builds awesome rifles.

A KMW appreciation and discussion topic appears to be missing. I’ve had a few AI’s and still own a baby AX and had TRG’s. The KMW stock is so comfortable and this rifle has opened my eyes to Remington clones again.

This is a 7mm SAUM, Bat VR actioned rifle that had to be built in the U. K. so isn’t a true KMW Sentinal rifle sadly. Although it shoots lights out.

Compulsive Gun Collector/ <1 Year PRS Shooter

New to The Hide. I train out in Frankston, TX at 5H and have shot about 6 PRS matches in Texas.

Jumped off the deep end 8 months ago learning to reload and it’s better to buy once cry once when it comes to your setup. I didn’t do that at first so I have a few things to sell to help people get started or possibly upgrade.

What tips do you have for me you wish you knew when you joined The Hide, and what is the best way to start my street cred to sell on here?

Night Vision Recommendations for Thermal Spotter with Simple Controls

Wanted to see if I can get some feedback from the goons on this.

I have a friend looking for a decent and reliable thermal spotter. Most important requirements being:

- Simple to operate (intuitive / ergonomic on/off button)
- Simple and intuitive controls layout (zoom being most critical.. color modes being less important)
- Durable and reliable
- Decent core specs and optics
- Good battery life is a plus
- Average range would be inside 200y (ident)

Any thoughts?
