I have a pre fit x caliber on an origin action. I had it straight fluted with 5 flutes, but didn’t consider indexing when I ordered it. The rifle is all set up and shooting consistently under .5 moa but the indexing is just slightly off center and I was wondering if I had the guy who put the barrel on take it apart and try to index it better if it would still be possible to have proper headspace, or if I should just leave it be. What’s everyone think

I know this post is probably beating a dead horse…

But I’m currently starting a new build, I will be building a rifle strictly for elk hunting.

I am looking for insight on pro’s and con’s between the 33 nosler and 338 Norma.

I will be reloading and will be using a 3.850 magazine and will strictly be using a magazine and not single shot etc.

I will be putting a Bartlein 24 inch carbon barrel paired with a coup de grace bolt action.

As the title says, I see 140gr but not 130 gr. So far, my new rifle seems to prefer the Federal GM Berger Hybrid 130gr to the 130gr stuff that I've tested (though I have some Federal GM Berger Hybrid 140gr coming in tomorrow for further testing), but I can't find it in AB Mobile. I'm sure it's there and I'm missing something. Also, there are a ton of identical profiles with different "strings" at the end such as "{PDM} Berger Target Hybrid(1079)": what are those? Of course, they all seem to be in 140gr as well....

I'm about to order a barrel for NRL hunter matches and I'm torn between the 6.5x47 Lapua or the 25 cal version.

Given the power factor requirements I'd have to send a 134 around 2840, or I could shoot a heavier 6.5 like a 144 lrht at 2650.

I guess what I'm really hung up on is whether or not a lighter 25 cal bullet going 2850 offers any advantage in terms of recoil or ballistics over a slow high bc 6.5?
