The development of airguns and projectiles are to the point now that airguns are beating rimfires in many competitions. The Karma Red Panda, FX Impact, Evol and Brocock Sonoran are phenominal guns and will outshoot rimfires regularly. What's the point of buying a custom rimfire and spending $3-4000 and maybe, maybe it will shoot provided you test hundreds of dollars worth of ammo to find the right lot number.

When you are shooting to test load development, do you discard your cold bore shot?

I ask this because I have noticed that my proof CF 308 barrel has a tendency to send the first shot almost 2" up and left from the rest of the shots. It is so consistant that I can use Kentucky Windage to correct for it most of the time.

Yesterday I tested some 155 TMKs and some 195 TMKs using Varget and BLC(2). I ran the 155s first and got some incredible groups and perhaps the best SD of my life....5! The lowest and highest charge weights shot the best, .301 and .515 respectively. However, on that first shot I did not think to correct for the cold shot and it was a full 2" high and left.

After finishing that string I let the rifle cool for an hour and repeated with the 195s but did compensate for the difference. Boom, it landed dead into the bullseye.

In the future I may just fire a plinking round to settle everything in before proceeding.

Hey all.
Hoping someone knows more about the rifle or others here. I want the new AT-X, I’ve never owned an AI but always wanted one.
First is magazines. Will regular AICS mags fit into it or is it only the AI double stack mags? I want to find a magazine that holds 12 rounds for PRS and want to know my options.
Next is barrels. I’m not a fan of 6.5 Creedmoor and have nothing to reload for it at all. I currently run a 6mm Creed for PRS but would be ok with a .308 for Tac Division as well. From the looks the new AT-X has a heavier than normal profile so what barrel contour or like options could I get for a barrel in either 6CM or .308Win?
Last is rifle components, like the barrel shroud that goes over the barrel on top of the handguard. I haven’t been able to find a solid availability date. Mile High said summer sometime. Because I want a folding stock and that barrel shroud for sure

I bought this here on the hide last winter with the goal of shooting some matches, but my new job has completely destroyed my free time, and it doesn’t look promising for the next couple years. So, I am going to let this beautiful rifle go to get some use. It’s a 308 f/tr rifle. Kelbly Panda dual port, right bolt, right eject (no ejector, but only comes out the right port). Cerus Rifle works maple stock and built by KWP. Has a 30” Brux barrel chambered in 308, with DSB tuner. 1500 rounds on the primary barrel from the previous owner. I added exactly 3 to this total. Back up barrel unused by me, 250 rounds from previous owner. Nitrided bolt and shilen trigger. Both barrels chambered same reamer back to back. Previous owner shot 185 juggernauts primarily. I added a Vortex Golden Eagle 15-60 scope with night force ultralight rings. A thick padded rifle bag is also included. $4600 for everything shipped to your FFL. $3400 for everything except the scope and rings.
