Lapua Center-x Vs Eley Tenex visual compare

Most likely this has been done before. I wondered how Center-X vs Tenex would look pressed into the same guns bore, extracted without firing to view the lead impression from rifling lands. I attached a photo.
I noticed the Center-X took quite a bit more force to seat the rim to the chamber edge. Perhaps double. I didn't have a calibrated gauge to measure force. CZ 457 MTR was used.

Tenex is on the bottom. What interesting is Center-X has the rifle land mark deep into the sealing groove area while Tenex the striations are still very visible.
Brass looks very different too.

I also took bore scope shots but couldn't see the contact area of course.

Different lead and coatings but what else? Anyone else try this?

308 vs 6 ARC & 6.5 Grendel

Let's beat this horse while it's down.

It cannot be disputed that 308 produces more energy down range when compared to its small frame counterparts.
But for all practical purposes have any of you guys that hunt, target shoot, or obsess over in flight & terminal ballistics regretted moving from a large frame 308 to a small frame in 6mm ARC or 6.5 G for the weight savings. I know there are a lot of things which we can debate on paper, but for those that have actually traded the terminal performance for the weight savings, were your results on game or bad people, splash on steel targets, visible bullet trace, etc..., diminished to the point where you regret the trade off.

Thermal clip on for nx8 4-32

Good evening, gents. I see a lot of videos, reviews, and marketing ploy for thermal clip-ons in front of LPVOs. Does anyone have experience with them in front of higher base magnification optics? Are there any that are clear up to, say, 10x optical prior to the thermal unit? Basically, if I wanted to shoot longer range and had good glass already, are there any clip on units I can utilize, or am I stuck with a dedicated thermal rifle and optic?

Gunsmith Recommendations - Arizona

Short list that I’m hoping to find a local source for (Phoenix, AZ).

Just really don’t wanna ship a rifle. So I don’t mind driving a couple to a few hours to prevent that. My brother lives in Vegas to add.

- Action bedded into a chassis for reasons not involving “accurizing”.

- Chopping, threading, and chambering barrels.

- Random shit that I’m not set up for.

Thanks in advance 🤙

The Accountant

Last summer the Skunkwerks division of Gunwerks released The Accountant. Cool name, cool gun, an intergrally suppressed 308 take down rifle 17.5" long makes it solid for supers or subs close or far.

$13,500. + stamp...Hard pass

A few years ago when Jtac released the Screech Owl, I grabbed one to do almost the same thing. Registered my TL3 and decided to do a 10" 300 blk instead.
I did an intergrally suppressed 9mm long ago and I dont think I'll ever do that again.
Figured I'd rather have a multipurpose SBR than a one purpose barrel. This way I can use my existing can or any future designs.

Just thought it was interesting how close mine was 3 years ago, to their final idea last summer.

Who else gots a short shorty?

Looking for a vertical grip wood stock

I’m wondering if there’s anything out there like the Cz 457 MTR stock for a R700 platform. The specific features I enjoy most are the vertical palm swell grip and short grip to trigger distance. I have done some looking around and haven’t really found anything that gets you a vertical grip as close to the trigger except for the foundation centurion (not wood, but still a possibility if nothing else comes up)

I really prefer the look and feel of a wood stock but would like to get closer to the ergonomics that a chassis provides compared to a traditional sporter rifle stock.

The rifle is mostly used for local level comps and target shooting. Any insight would be appreciated
