Cheap Around 12x50 Bino Suggestion

I know good aint cheap and cheap aint good, but I'm still curious- Do you guys have any suggestions for some 12x50s, for just casual bird watching and whatnot out the back kitchen window? I havent touched a set of binos besides my vortex diamondback HD 10x42s in years, so I've no clue if the cheap tascos or other Kmart brands have gotten better than they were in the 80s lol.
I dont need tangent theta clarity for what I'd be doing with these, but then I dont feel like taking a chance on the 40 dollar pair in the counter at the local sporting goods stores either.
Any suggestions?

WTB Hinterland Outfitters

Edit to add: Mods, please move this thread if this is not the appropriate place.

Been looking for a specific Accuracy International left hand rifle. Neither Mile High nor Eurooptic have it in stock. Did some googling and came across Hinterland Outfitters. Saw a few posts on the hide were members have purchased from there. Anyone have any further input? Are these new products, any horror stories? Copy-cat scam websites like the Accuracy International USA one? (that’s still up by the way)

Thanks for any input.

SOLD 5.7x28 AR-15 Upper

8” CMMG 9 twist RDB barrel and bolt (no CH)
SI port door
7” mlok handguard
No muzzle device
Aero Precision ultralight 30mm scope mount
Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 (Gen 1, AR-BDC2 MOA)
Threaded 1/2-28

Accurate and reliable I just don’t use it. Probably has less than 200 rounds through it. All NFA rules apply. All items were purchased new by me.

it takes these Magazine, 5.7 AR Conversion, Gen II, 32rd | CMMG - AR 15 and AR 10 Builds and Parts

One is included with the upper. Fits any standard AR-15 lower. Works with standard buffer/spring and milspec/aftermarket triggers (I was using a Triggertech single stage). Maintains last round hold open feature.

I also have dies, brass (purchased as once fired range pickups), bullets (30gr Varmint Grenades), and ammo available as well. I will get those up later today. Surprisingly not as difficult to load for as one might think. I was getting about 2700 Ft/s with the 30’s.

$600 shipped (upper w/ bolt, mag, scope mount and scope). PPFF preferred.

New Shooter - 6.5 Creedmoor Load Development

I'm a new shooter and have been to the range three times so far.

Rifle Setup:

  • Howa 1500 in 6.5 Creedmoor
  • KRG Bravo chassis

First Range Trip:

  • Fired 60 rounds of factory ammo, averaging about 1 MOA.
  • Later discovered that my muzzle brake was loose, so not sure how much that affected accuracy.

Second Range Trip (First Time Reloading):

  • Loaded 40 rounds: 41.5gr H4350, 140gr Berger Hybrid, Lapua small primer brass, CCI 450 primers. My goal was to get to the 100-round mark.
  • Also loaded 60 rounds in .2gr increments from 40.0 to 42.2gr (5 shots each) to look for velocity nodes.
  • Found little definitive info on nodes, but my SDs were low (5-9), and ES was under 25.
  • Had multiple groups between .4 and .6 MOA.
  • All rounds were loaded to about 2.8” COAL, though there was some variation due to bullet inconsistencies.
  • Then, I started questioning whether speed nodes are just "fud lore."

Third Range Trip:

  • Loaded everything at 41.6gr since that produced my best group previously.
  • Went to a 700-yard range to focus on reading wind, testing 4DOF accuracy, and evaluating the rifle’s performance at longer distances.

My Questions:

  • My cases are now prepped, annealed, sized, and cleaned. Should I start testing seating depth?
  • Should I redo my ladder test now that the rifle has 260 rounds through it and the brass is twice-fired?
  • Or should I just go out and shoot more?

I'm mainly shooting for fun but plan to start hunting and maybe try a PRS match or two. Looking for advice from experienced long-range shooters on how to best use my components and improve.

Thanks!

Getting back in to reloading

I have been out out of the reloading game for 20+ years at this point. I ordered a Area 419 7/8 press, some Bullet Central precision dies, a Inguity Precision measure with the A&D 300 FXi scale(pre-order), some N570 and H100 for my 300 PRC, as well as some Berger 208 and 210 hunting rounds, a K&M neck turner, a Henderson Gen 3 case trimmer, as well as a handful of other things.

I have a Terminus Kratos Lite action on order, a Proof 22" barrel and plan to run the PTR Vent 1 suppressor. I have a Diamond Pro trigger, and a MDT HNT26 chassis in hand. I have some CCI 250 mag primers as I could not find any 215M.

I plan to set the rifle up for long range hunting, but would like to ring steel at distance as well. I don't have everything in hand quite yet, but looking forward to the build. I'm enjoying reading about other's 300 PRC loads and look forward to putting this rifle to the test in the near future.

Contract Run Blow out - Solus/Origin 6.5 Creeds

I've talked about our Production Shop a little, most of the stuff we do for Hide Members is the Custom Shop. We finished a run of 6.5 Creedmoor prefits for Solus/Origin barrels several months back and we just got stock release on the blanks that we had left from the contract run. We buy more blanks for a contract than what is required to make sure if something happens in production we have spares... these are those spares.

There are 15 barrels total, all are 6.5mm Creeds and they're all setup for Origin/Solus headspace. The contours are limited in the drop down menu and the pricing includes muzzle threads (5/8-24) cut to our standard Class 3A spec.

Blanks used are Vortakt Series 400 which are 416R stainless, lapped, stress relieved and button rifled. In our internal testing these seemed comparable to Criterions we've seen. They are not custom made Ospreys

We saw factory ammo hover around 3/4 MOA and hand loads were a little tighter.

The blowout pricing is a "get 'em while they're here, when they're gone they're gone" situation.

Remage Prefit and Piercing Primers

Needing some advice. Story goes like this: I tore down a Remington 700 chambered in 243 with no more than five boxes put through it wanting to build a competition rifle chambered in 6mm creed. Teardown went great and assembly went equally as good. First ammo I put through it was some Hornady eld-m with no problems. I bought a couple cases of Norma Golden Target, shot a couple boxes with no problems and some pretty good groups. All was good until I had a “click” and no boom. Recocked the firing pin and another click. Pulled the round and saw a light primer strike. Didn’t think anything of it, chambered another round and another click but this time no strike at all. Looking into it I found several fired brass that had “inverted primer strikes” by that I mean they were not a crater but a dimple like they flowed into the firing pin hole. Also found one that had a perfect circle cut out of it which I found inside my bolt assembly along with a bent firing pin. I figured that my pin failed somehow and caused all this and went on a search for a new one. I decided to purchase an entire assembly from PTG instead. All was good except for the first half box and then the same problem came back along with the problem that when you run the bolt home with any haste the firing pin will fall with the bolt handle when closing unless the safety is on. Now, before I get hammered about Remington’s trigger problem this is not the factory trigger but rather a Triggertech although the same thing happens with the factory trigger and a jewel from another rifle. I called PTG and they said they “knew what the problem was” and would send another bolt. Got the second new bolt still acts the same but now it also drags on the sides of the slot in the receiver that the bottom of the cocking piece slides through. My factory trigger has a small window where you can see the sear engagement with another piece and when you run the bolt home too hard you can see that the sear slides past that piece and the pin will fall as the bolt closes. If when they disengage from one another you back the bolt up ever so slightly they reset and the group functions as normal. I’ll up load any pics needed and can measure anything to the best of my ability this one is Messi no with my head and needing a little directional input. Thank you all in advance!

I hope SC does away with the H4-EADs

SC Case

If "highly skilled" H1B workers are restricted to a specific field, how can their arranged marriage spouses be allowed to work anywhere without restrictions on H4-EAD? Granted that the H1B holder waited maybe six years to get their i-140 approved to be eligible for the spouse's H4-EAD but just because someone is on the path to becoming a permanent resident or a citizen someday is not a justifiable cause to start giving out jobs that are supposed to be for citizens.

My personal experience with one of these bitches at work:
- Was given opportunities in private companies by other Indians despite lack of skills.
- Cheats on a test, gets certified, and got the state job because muh diversity.
- Negotiated salary by lying to HR about her previous salary. Gets paid $130,000 per year. What in the actual fuck?!
- Hiring other Indians to state from other states. Using a loophole to stay out of trouble.
- Owns three houses and their 3000 sq. ft house in Arizona is too small according to this cunt.

I wrote to Stephen Miller, my congresswoman Mary Miller, and Trump's office. None of them responded. Apparently, Save Jobs has been fighting this for a while. This H4-EAD bullshit was an executive action signed by Obummer and despite Trump's efforts to get rid of it during his first term, they failed. Hopefully, they get rid of it this time.

Sorry for the rant but fuck, I can't stand this shit anymore. I might file a lawsuit down the road. The "poor hard working immigrant" bullshit doesn't apply to most of these non-immigrant work visa type motherfuckers. They come here just for the $ and nothing else. They have zero respect for this country, the constitution, its history, its values/principles, and pretty much everything this country stands for. Mind you, as of today 1 US Dollar is equal to 85.66 Indian Rupees.

Help with Reloading Data

All, I could really use some help here. I'm relatively new to fine tuning loads to get consistently small groups. For the first time ever I have a rifle that I believe I can tune a load to shoot small groups. After my ladder testing, the image below outlines the loads I decided to test. I know it's a lot of loads but I have some new Lapua brass that I wanted to fire form so I figured what the heck. Would anyone be willing to take a look and advise on where to go next? Load 1 seems obvious to test further, butI would really like a little higher velocity if possible. However at Load 7 I can't tell what is happening with that group. Is it possible that the higher 2900 fps velocity is where the load starts to come apart? If I overlay all these groups while taking exception to one flyer on the right on load 3 and one flyer on the left on load 7 (if indeed those are flyers) that leaves me with a roughly 1.170" 35 shot group. That leads me to believe that this powder, primer, and bullet combination are promising. But again I am relatively new to the fine tuning of a load and am not very sure what I am looking for at times. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time in advance.
