Outlier Barrel Question/Issue

I recently helped a friend with a Ruger American build with an outlier barrel. I pulled the stock barrel off and put an Outlier steel 6mm Creedmoor Barrel on. Barrel was headspaced with a go gauge and checked with a no go twice. I then chambered some factory Hornady 87gr V-Max ammo I had for my coyote rifle in it just to check to make sure factory ammo chambered good. Everything seemed fine.

He took the barrel home and put the barreled action in his chassis and tried to chamber factory Hornady 108 ELDX Ammo in the gun. The bolt is extremely hard to close. When you go to open the chamber you have to pull extremely hard on the bolt to open it and you are just waiting to unseat the bullet. The bullet comes out with rifling goove marks almost all the way down to the case neck.

A borescope shows that the rifling seems to starting right after the case neck in the chamber. It seems like there is no throat to the barrel whatsoever.

He tried emailing outlier today. So far they tried to say Hornady had a batch of bad bullets. They say to just run other ammo or different bullets. He sent them pictures, videos. He sent his phone number and asked for them to call him to discuss. They just keep emailing back with different thoughts on why its not the barrel.

I am not a gunsmith but I have installed prefits on a few different rifles. It seems to us that if the reamer is sammi spec that factory ELDX should fit. COAL of the factory ammo is within spec of the load data Hornady shows for reloading that bullet for a 6 Creedmoor.

If anyone has any idea on something we might be missing we would love to hear your ideas. I dont really feel like "run a different ammo" is a valid response. It just seems like the barrel has some kind of chamber issue and not being able to speak with someone in customer service seems to really make the process of dealing with customer service worse.

New from Eastern NC

Just doing my due diligence and reporting in here. Located Eastern/Coastal NC.

Not new to shooting, nor long distance. Thought these forums were long gone but glad to be here.

I've shot DMR/PRS/USPSA/CMP/IDPA/2-gun/NVG/etc. matches. I need to get back around to building out a .22 to get into PRS/NRL Rimfire. (I shoot too many different style matches and have too many "builds" I'm working on to focus on just one).

Been to Coleman's Creek, Pigg River, Alliance (member) and a few other ranges around the area. Would love to branch out and visit some other new ones and meet new people.

I've done very minimal reloading. Still trying to get dialed in and good gear.

Open to shooting with anyone if they're local and to learning (esp ELR)

PRS Talk Dual Prs rifles? Same? Different?

So just seeing what others are doing. I have a 6GT Prs rifle and I recently picked up another action to go along with a previous 6.5cm barrel I was using. For those that have two Prs rifles. Do you set them up the exact same or do you set them up differently? Different chassis/stocks, optics etc.

Or the other option is if you have two precision rifles and they are different; is one a prs and one a nrl or what purposes?

Firearms Remington M24A2 Sniper Rifle w/ AEM M24 Suppressor

Selling my RW Snyder built Remington M24A2 Sniper Rifle and AEM M24 Suppressor, and accessories.

I purchased this back in 2024, but unfortunately a potential move for work overseas and time has made it difficult to shoot this.

It has around 200 rounds through it, all of it FGMM 7.62.

It is threaded in 5/8x-24, with a 1-10 barrel twist
M24 trigger, M24 marked receiver.
MARS 0 MOA rail
Chambered in 7.62/.308

It shoots absolutely lights out, I shot a sub-moa group and I am absolutely not a great shot by any means.

Only blemish is a small white chip of sorts near the safety selector, and some normal marks on the bolt handle and chassis from normal use.

Total package includes:

RW Synder built M24A2 w/MARS rail
AEM M24 Suppressor w/original box threaded in 5/8x24
5x AI AE MKI 5 round magazines, 4 still new in packaging
Harris S-BRM Bipod with KMW Pod-Loc installed

Will NOT come with the Nightforce ATACR scope or Sphur mount

Asking $5200 shipped for everything, will ship in a Plano Hard Case from my local FFL to yours.

I am located in Albuquerque, NM so if you are local and would like to see this in person, please message me.

If you would like to wait for the new year to arrive to save on that $200 NFA Tax Stamp, we can work out the details as well.

Willing and able to drive to surrounding states if needed.

More photos/details available on request.

Thanks for looking.

SOLD ****PRICE DROP**** Greyboe Ridgeback R700 SA RH Woodland

IMG_4538.jpeg
IMG_4539.jpeg
Have an “improved” Ridgeback for sale. Barrel channel was opened up by SAS in Reno to take a MTU contour barrel. GreyBoe milled out the left side to accept actions w/ a side bolt release. Mainly used with a Surgeon .223 barreled action.

Will come with Greyboe bottom metal, Henderson Arca rail, check pad and 2-round holder. Trying not to separate.

Asking for $500, I prefer Venmo or Zelle but can handle a money order.

Night Vision WTT N-Vision Nox18 for LRF binos

Purchased used. Was told it was originally purchased in 2024 but I never verified that. Works great and is in great shape.

I’m looking for higher end lrf binos, preferably something with AB built in but not a deal killer necessarily. I do need them by early next week so I’m no interest soon I’ll be busting out the ol CC and buying online.

Your "Inventory..." How did it get that way?

Having been an owner/shooter for slightly over 10 years now, I confess I'm way behind most I of you in re: the size of my "inventory." I do have a few pieces here and there in each category (shotties, pistols, revolver (well only one of those), and rifles). And I have he ammo for all of them. No NFA stuff yet, but I'm working on it.

But that is nothing compared to most of you, I think. A lot of you guys have overflowing safes, etc. maybe 2 or 3 of them. I'm amazed at some of the inventory collections you have. My basic question is, how did you acquire all that inventory? What led you to build the inventory you built? I don't need or want to know exactly what you have, but what process did your brain go through in the name of building that inventory. Did something in your brain just keep saying, "Buy...Buy...BUY!!!" or were your acquisitions more "measured" as are mine? DId you just have to have one of each brand or something? Did you react to the "new brand/model of the day" and go out and buy it? How did you acquire your present inventory?

I ask, because for whatever reason, I don't seem to have that "buy bug." I don't need the latest, greatest piece. I don't follow the "item/brand of the day" thing at all. I make very specific acquisitions for very specific reasons/purposes. And I haven't in almost 2 years (some of that being "financial," but). I don't need to buy everything on web, etc. etc. only what I want/need. Granted I rarely sell anything but, at this rate, I may never catch up with most of you. I think I have all my calibers covered (.22LR, 9mm, .38 SPC, .45 acp, 5.56 Green Tip and .308 win (12G 00 Buck, 12G slugs, and other various kinds fot the shotties).

And I don't see acquiring much more in the future, either. If I do anything, it will most likely be in the NFA area. Maybe some custom builds like a Wilson Combat 1911 or a Dan Wesson. Certainly my Colt SAA Peacemaker. And, I may replicate 1-2 of my EDCs to have them ready for whatever reason (i.e. I am forced into a DGU and it gets confiscated... Hopefully never, but...). But again, this is nothing compared to you guys.

How did you folks do it? How did you build your inventory and how long has it taken? Hopefully, I"ll catch up with y'all, someday... maybe.

Optics Meopta MeoStar B1 15x56 HD Binoculars

Used Meopta 15x56 binos. I have used these for several years, excellent glass, as close as you can get to Swaros without paying the extra $1000. I am only selling because I moved to a 15x with a reticle. I wish the glass on my new set is clear as these, but I do use the reticle a lot. These were purchased directly from Meopta several years ago.

I have always kept it in a Storm Case, I will include this in the sale.

I also include a link at the bottom that shows it is registered for the warranty.

$1000 Shipped- insured.

ARC Precision Ultimate Annealer

Im in the market for a whole new precision setup. I've only previously reloaded straight wall pistol on a 650 so this is process I've never had to implement.

An annealer is one piece of the puzzle that I am planning on getting. Particularly the AMP Anneler.

Just saw this being listed on a few reloading vendors.

Rails for LMSS?

I was able to buy one of the LMSS spotters earlier this year for $400 when they were liquidating them.

I would really like to get some of the rails I have seen for them but the only thing I can find is this system from BO, and its $600.

Is there anywhere to buy individual rails or a cheaper alternative?

Thank you,
