My impacts are slick as snot. I don't want to mess that up... I see images of Impacts cerakoted only on the outside of the receiver, and some inside and bolt body as well.

Any feedback on this? Does 100% cerakote inside and out gum up the action? I'd like to it to be all one color, but if feedback is negative I'll just do the bolt handle and outside of the action.

I have actions that run slick with cerakote on the bolt and inside of the action, so I could see it working fine.

I want to build up a M24 SWS clone. I know that Remington sells the complete rifles, but like many of you I love to hunt for parts and build stuff up. Can someone familiar with this rig post detailed information and pictures for an exact M24 replica? Stock, Actions, Markings, Mounts, Rings, Scopes, Bottom Metal, Sight Bases etc. Thanks.

T3X / Proof combo from SJA , mdt chassis, 10 and 12 round mags, i have over 100 rounds of 90 grain handloads. I have ran this gun the last 1.5 years coyote hunting and taken hundred of yotes pigs and bobcats. I’d have to count brass, between 4/500 rounds down the pipe. I’m on my 6th load batch of 100 so i feel more confident towards the 500 mark. Gun shoots 1/2 moa all day with me behind it , and have taken several coyotes at 300+ yards. Will entertain trades for a nice 22 arc AR , or 6 Arc ar, or other chassis bolt guns. I can add cash, or other guns that i don’t have listed.

Gun is a straight killer, I’ve taken deer at 3–500 yards off tripod this year several times, it’s light , maneuverable. Weighs a whopping 6.7 pounds.

I’ve read a ton of threads covering my title, however — I’m looking for a basic tripod that’ll get to 72 inches (I’m a little over 6 feet tall) and some type of basic mount that would be best to use with some inexpensive binoculars. I’m just going to use the tripod and binos for spotting targets at distances inside of 400 yards and will not shoot off of the tripod ever.

The issue at hand is that I cannot bump the shoulder because my die is bottomed out. Redding Competition Dies with Shell holder kit.

I am using a .400 dia Hornady bushing on my caliper. This will allow me to take a measurement from the base of the case to the shoulder tangent (where dia is 0.400”)

The saami specs shows the base to shoulder 1.5438” I measure my 3x fired Lapua brass and I have 1.5365” – so I am still 0.0073” from the shoulder after brass is fired formed. (I have sorted my fired brass I have base to shoulder tangent from 1.5355"-1.5365" with 90% at 1.5360") IS this even possible? Fire forming should espand that case to occupy the entire chamber(?)

My case length is 1.911 so I know that I have not grown my brass with only 3 fires.

The information shows that brass has not expanded to fit my chamber. OR my chamber does not meet specs and is under sized. Therefore full length sizing is not possible because the die bottoms out before contact to the shoulder has occurred.

Once the shoulder has made contact I will bump 0.002”

Does my theory seem correct – that I just haven’t fired my brass enough to occupy the headspace or Seekins undersizes their chambers.

I could have a shell holder milled ground down to prevent bottoming out and this would expose the truth of the situation.
