SOLD Arken EPL-4 6-24x50 with accessories, Vortex Pro rings, and (two) Arken AR one piece mounts

Package deal here on a really lightweight but long-reaching 30mm scope (FFP VHR Mil reticle) with bubble level, scope caps (and the OEM bikini cover), sun shield, and three mounting options: rings and two different one-piece AR mounts. Willing to sell the scope with one or all of the mounts, or scope-only, as available. PayPal FF only or Venmo, and please DM me if interested in any or all of it. I'll update the listing ASAP as stuff sells. Thanks!

Update: new shit has come to light, man!
I found the mount that came with this scope when I bought it, I forgot I had this one too lol. It's the "Arken Precision Light" mount, which is the lighter version (kinda goes better with the hunter style scope anyway), still 1.5" height, longer reach cantilever, and 0 MOA. I will add a pic when I get a chance but you can see the dims if you peep Arken's website. Listing is updated below. This scope with the "light" one-piece mount is really a very competitive combo for a light hunting rifle or a tac AR setup.

So that's now three different mounting options, see below if you want to mix and match or take all three for the new price below.

  • Arken EPL-4 6-24x50 Scope with all accessories (caps, bubble level, sunshade, stickers, cleaning cloth, morale patch): $275 shipped
  • Vortex Pro Rings (30 mm tube, 1.26" high): $65 shipped
  • Arken Rigid Precision one-piece mount (30 mm tube, 1.5" high, 20 MOA): $50 shipped
  • Arken Rigid Precision Light one-piece mount (30mm tube, 1.5 high, 0 MOA): $50 shipped

  • Or, just take it all--scope and three mounts--for $420 $400!
What's it gonna take to get you into a new scope (and three mounts) TODAY?!

Full disclosure, the previous owner of the scope was a little ham-handed with it, I didn't see these marks on the tube until I pulled it out of the mount to install in rings. The scope works great, just getting out in front of it. It's cosmetic and not a big deal but I'd rather mention it than not. You can see the marks in a pic or two. Everything else is perfect--the glass, turrets, everything works great. I had this on a bolt gun and an AR, ultimately decided I didn't need a scope this lightweight and prefer the 34mm tanks, lol. Have original box for the scope and rings too.

Note this scope has the VHR reticle (see the box pic for uh, well, pic; it's the "hunter" reticle, so a cleaner crosshair style, not the christmas tree/tactical dealio.) It is also illuminated.

Which needle oiler do you like?

Bought my first needle oiler, thought it would help lube a bolt or rails when I get to the range and realize I forget to lube up at home. Small in my range bag. I got this little bottle of CLP but the don't like it because you can't squeeze it for more or less oil. Instead you have to wait for gravity to produce a drop, and it's a pretty tiny drop. So it takes more than a moment or two and it's just too fricking slow. Have you used any oilers that aren't ridiculously slow?

Manners ELR light stock and rear bag choice

I'm wondering what bag you use to make small adjustments in vertical with the Manners ELR light stock with the flat/level bag rider, or a similar fclass type stock.

I have a JoyPod X with the joystick but wouldn't mind being able to make small adjustments without touching the bipod.

Anyone use an airbag in the rear? Do you get any reticle bounce?

I'm disabled so I can't squeeze a rear bag with my off hand so that's not an option.

Does anyone use an angled rear bag with a flat and level buttstock? I have, and have done ok with it, but I wouldn't mind getting away from that setup.

Intended purpose shooting ELR matches. This build will replace my 338LM that I've shot a few matches with already.

Thanks,
Scott

Firearms Christensen Arms 6.5 CR Barreled action 26" heavy barrel

Christensen Arms Barreled action. 6.5 Creedmoor. This was from a MESA long Range Model. Excellent condition. Bought it from a friend who said it shot very well with 140s but never fired it myself so I can't speak to exact round count but he said it wasn't very many. Doesn't have many rounds down it based upon the condition. I can provide some bore scope pics of the throat area to an interested buyer . I bought it used to chop down to make a shorty out of but decided it would still be heavier than what I would want for the application. Barrel is a heavy contour and is 26" Long, threaded 5/8x24' with a brake. Factory tungsten ceracote on receiver & barrel and bolt is nitrided. Trigger Tech Trigger, 20 moA picatinny rail. These are 700 pattern actions so drop into a stock or chassis of your choice and go shoot Ships from my FFL to your FFL $900

Anyone know anything about amphibians? I've got a question about a toad...

Just trying to identify this guy I found in the backyard today. My research (https://www.fishandboat.com/Conservation/Reptiles-Amphibians/Pages/Frogs-and-Toads.aspx) suggest there aren't that many species of toads in PA and my best guess is it's either an Eastern American Toad or a Fowler's Toad (I'm leaning more towards the former choice). Truth be told I don't know much about them but have been seeing quite a number of small (around and inch or so) toads hopping in the grass but this one is rather large. I don't have any beef against toads so I'm leaving him alone and letting him do his thing but just curious what I have here.

I'll include some pictures and see what the Hide thinks, before I got the tape measure out, it started backing into the hole and lost about an inch or so I'd say so I'd say it's pretty big in my limited experience:

Scope mounting question

I just mounted my scope recently, despite some hiccups I think I have it level, but the process made me wonder, why hasn’t the industry made it simpler?

Why must scope tubes be round on the outside? Why not have a machined spot that would interface directly with a scope mount so it would be level the first time every time without having to mess with levels and plumb bobs? Is there something I’m missing?

I saw a few old military scopes that were like that, flat on the bottom. Others that even had the bases machined right in to the tube itself. It seems like a smarter system. Why can’t a modern scope come with an integral picatinny mount for example? Or just be machined flat on the bottom and fit with matching shaped rings?
