It's sad that all the so called patriots i keep seeing spout off on here are actually putin/russia lovers .

The chic looks legit.

How bout y'all trade the bitterness in for a cup of piss? They are worth about the same, and no one else will have to share in your agony.

Quit searching for comfort and sustenance in a front man. Value your common heritage and come together behind that would be my suggestion.

Check out this movie on Amazon about Deki, a Russian sniper who went to Donbass to shoot Ukrainians.

A Sniper's War
I'll check it out.

Some Russian movies are very good like Mikhailkov's original "Burnt by the Sun" or "9 Rota" (9th company) or even "August 8" if you can find it. but then there is some really cringe-worthy youtube stuff that the Russians eat up

I should have called this a documentry. The film crew followed Deki around in Donbass. He stayed in a barracks with other snipers. They brought their own rifles. They drove in personal cars to the front lines. They were in bombed out apartment buildings shooting a Ukrainian troops from a distance. There were Ukrainian snipers shooting back. It was very much up close, real and personal.

Ok, I quick watched it and I don't know what to think. He certainly was an amateur, and if the film is legit, he had an angel on his shoulder to survive like that. (or he was up against very unskilled opposition) At the end, where he took a round in his armor plate, and then went back the next day, to the same position .....and started popping off rounds in rapid succession through the same porthole with dust signature everywhere, and then after 7 or 8 shots said "I got the other sniper" had me wondering.

Yes I wondered about that too. He wasn't any Simo Häyhä who never got seen. At that point it was more of a firefight with sniper rifles than stealthy sniping. I don't know if there was any "reality TV" editing or coaching too add to the drama. They did try to make Deki a sympathic character with the scenes of him eating and drinking with the local family and hanging out with his buddies. I don't know that I saw any real sniper tactics, but I did find it interesting to be virtually riding along in the war zone and hearing what people had to say and seeing these volunteer snipers.

yes, it's interesting.... I just don't know how accurate. Back in 14 and 15, those guys in Donbass named Givi and Motorolla made similar videos. Both of them ended up getting whacked.

Could it be possible that Putin is holding the majority of his military in reserve? After all, he has a mindset that says NATO can, and will, launch an all out counter attack if it looks like the Ukraine will capitulate.
Some invasion plan

My favorite is Talvisota

You do realize both sides can be shit...right?

Pointing out that Ukraine condones literal neo-nazi elements within it's ranks is not being a "Putin apologist"

The fact that we are being told to support a country that no one cared about until it 30 seconds ago should be telling.....especially when it's been pretty open about how it's been laundering money to western politicians.

As I've said before.....fuck Ukraine, fuck Russia, I hope both sides find a way to lose.
I get you are real emotional about a subject you didn’t “care about until 30seconds ago”
But try to be less emotional about the propaganda going around and just say out loud “Russia invaded a sovern democratic country that elected a president that is Jewish” stop with the they are nazi’s , drug addicts…. But NATO!! “He told us about NATO” or probably your favorite right now US secretly sent plutonium to Ukraine and they now are close to having nuclear weapons. (Silly to want to believe that) I bet you were saying on 23feb that they woundnt invade it was US propaganda
You may not like “our”country right now but doesn’t mean Russia didn’t invade a country and is currently killing women, children and old people….and yes along with people who like Fascism.

nope....if america can elect a black man 2x, and still be called "systematically racist".....you cant use the "we elected a jew" defense.

also, i said it condones neo nazi elements.....not that Ukraine was nazi germany 2.0

so you are saying the Azov battalion is "Russian propaganda"?

you are also saying "democratically elected" peoples deputy Andriy Biletsky is Russian propaganda?

like i said, both countries are shit
I see you can not think for yourself and are only in a we vs them mentality. I want only this type of person to rule me anything else can go to shit.

that's Finnish, but yeah it's good. The german film "Stalingrad" is another good one. So is the German miniseries "Generation War"
It was meant to be a little trolling suggestion but those were good to.

I despise communists. As much as I despise NWO totalitarian democrats. They are, in fact, the same family tree.

Russia is no longer communist since 1991.

The communist Soviet Union invaded Finland in 1939, as well as many other places. For some unknown reason the pure and noble western allies gave the Soviet Union a free pass on everything, even death camps and genocidal mass murder; they just pretended that nothing was going on and singled out the Nazis. Possibly because FDR was himself a communist? many of his advisors were. Or maybe he and Churchill were just bastards that cared more about playing the odds against a weaker opponent instead of truly rooting out all the evil in the world.

100% All true.
Russia is now a dictatorship or oligarchy however you want to slice it. Still wildly oppressing it’s people and now by invading another country of “Russian brothers” has created a situation that will harm millions of ordinary russians. Just like the former USSR.

It's true that FDR was sympathetic toward the allied powers prior to Pearl Harbor. The Lend Lease Program bears that out.

Keep in mind that, Hitler declared war on the US, four days after Pearl Harbor. He was hoping that the Japanese would declare war on the Soviet Union to take pressure off of him on the Eastern Front.

When Stalin found out, from Richard Sorge, that the Japanese had no intention of fighting the Soviet Union, that freed up troops in the East to move westward against the Germans.

So it wasn't that we were in love with the Soviet Union during WWII, it was a matter of practicality. It would have been extremely difficult for the US, Britain and France to declare war on both Germany and the USSR. That might have caused Hitler and Stalin to kiss and makeup.

Hello Russian invasion apologist
this isn't a one sided affair, and despite your cnn feed saying otherwise, this was not entirely unprovoked.
and no, saying that doesn't mean i am rootin for pootin.

“Of the 321 human rights violations and abuses documented, 112 occurred during the [three-month] reporting period; the Government of Ukraine was responsible for 68 violations (61%), armed groups for 19 (17%) and the Government of Russia (as the Occupying Power in Crimea) for 25 (22%),” it reads.

Unsurprisingly, eastern Ukraine remains to be the hot spot for human rights abuse with 93 cases (on both sides of the contact line) taking place in the reporting period.

Civilian casualties are “on the rise,” the report reads, with 81 civilian casualties in the Donbas, including 19 deaths. That’s a 9% increase from the previous reporting period.

“Half of the total (56.7%) occurred in April, as casualties from shelling, light weapons, small arms and mine-related incidents increased sharply,” the OHCHR report states. “Shelling and small arms fire continued to damage civilian infrastructure, in particular, the Donetsk Filtration Station causing disruptions in the public water supply. OHCHR documented four incidents where DFS civilian staff may have been intentionally targeted, which if proven, constitute a war crime.”

So are you saying Russia thought those were Rookie numbers and said hold my beer?
And I assume you always agree or at least use OHCHR as reference material?

you are painfully insightful and it is embarrassing (for me) to use anything from the UN for a citation, but it is convenient to illustrate the difference in coverage of the situation in the donbas region from just 2 years ago, to the current narrative that enthic russian civilians were not actively being killed, and there was no reason for pootin to start shootin, and the ukrainian government is completely without blame in the conflict.

How about a 1000 Internet controlled weapon mounts, set up at key spots around the country, serviced by locals, and lowlight assigns 24x7 teams to SNIPE?

then again, to use your post,
We are now a dictatorship or oligarchy however you want to slice it. Still, discarding the Constitution and wildly oppressing our people financially and socially and then intermittently invading other countries whenever we need to distract the population from our own descent into slavery has created a situation that will harm millions of ordinary Americans and destroy the American dream. We have become the former USSR.

Hmmm I think I now get it. You're an anti globalist who resides in the heart of a globalist controlled country and are trying to win people over one post at a time.. hearts and minds 😉

Ukraine is a bastard, the illegitimate government of a NWO color revolution. Ukrainian citizens are brainwashed behind a torrent of propaganda just like Americans are. Russia had to deal with 1) NATO on it's borders, and 2) the human rights nightmare carried out against ethnic Russians in Donbass. With no alternative left, they lashed out like a wounded animal. In every regard, Russia is letting everything ride on the role of the dice. But one way or another, the NWO will eventually win, and then it's Orwell time for everyone. The NWO just wants to make sure that Russia is off the scene so that when the really ugly stuff begins, there is no state actor which will pull a "france during the revolution" move that allows citizens to fight the NWO with any chance of success.

Your last paragraph was a concern at the time, in 1939. It was one of the reasons for the non-aggression pact. However, by 1941 it was a different story and the easy move would have been to allow the two socialist nations to fight to the death in eastern europe, and then deal with the weakened winner afterwards. Most people do not understand the critical difference we made for the Soviets. We mobilized them. Our vast quantities of motor vehicles allowed them to move faster than the Germans. We gave them the ability to engage the tactically superior Germans at the operational level, which negated any advantages through speed and weight of materials applied to the point of attack, and then allowed for the rapid breakthroughs which moved faster than the Germans could withdraw or negate with reserves. By the end of 1943, the Germans could not keep up.

the nazis and the soviets were no better or worse, one from another. they were both bastards and even if it cost another x million soviet casualties for communism to extinguish itself, the soviet citizens would have been better off under different management. But we propelled them to post war greatness, and set the scene for the next 45 years of human misery around the globe.

You realize there was a violent uprising in Kiev in 2014? That overthrew the elected leader. Which started a civil war. This is a result of that uprising. This is the resulting war it never stopped.

Sovern... do you mean Sovereign???

Say it out loud “western back militia in Kyiv overthrew the Ukrainian government in 2014, violently “

What you say is true and you get no disagreement from me. For the moment lets leave politics and their economic system (communism) out of the discussion and focus on the military aspects of WW2.

There would have probably been no way the western allies could have defeated Germany without the Soviet Union.

I despise the communists as much as I hate the Nazis. IMHO, they are different sides of the same coin. Yet, we cannot discount the contribution the USSR made to the war effort.

In much the same way, I don't care for either the Ukraine or Russia. We were also just as much as fault for provoking Putin. This doesn't justify what he's done to the Ukraine.

Yet, to fully understand an adversary, you must turn the map of the battlefield around and become the enemy commander and look at everything through his eyes.

So I can see why Putin invaded the Ukraine. There are lots of things that he sees as aggression from the west. I'm not excusing what he has done but merely seeing the rationale behind it.

I was really hoping that this thread wouldn't get sidetracked into politics but focus on the sniping tactics in that theater of operations without labeling either side good or evil.

If we can uncover the facts from the propaganda (on both sides) I think we can all benefit from the lessons learned over there.

as above this country has had very little difference from the ussr for decades. our chains are silk instead of steel. china has come much farther in that direction. but,we are heading there at an increasing velocity. wish i had a clue about turning it around but the media, schools at all levels, big tech, big pharma, big corps in general, big food and gov at all levels all are pushuing us in that direction.

So no elections in Ukraine since 2014? Thanks for correcting my spelling error. Will you correct your fact error… or I’ll be nice. will you correct that fact you left some truths out of your epic take down?

I question the legitimacy of calling them democratic. I don’t deny they held elections.
