Tikka T1X

Can anyone advise on the muzzle diameter of a Tikka T1x .22LR ? Our club's match classes go by this factor. Thanks !

Mine measures .727". Threaded barrel - measured at the end of the barrel (right before the threads start).

Finally got my Sterk bolt handle and shroud, so felt compelled to post my Tikka build.

Thats a nice looking rifle!
It's easy to forget wooden stocks exist hanging around on the hide, plastic, alluminium and composites are all that exists.

Any updates on bigger magazines. I swear there was someone prototyping bigger mags.
Still nothing on MK Machining's site about their 12 rounder. Only place I've even seen it mentioned was on facebook.

How did you break the firing pin? I've probably shot 15000 rounds through mine and no issues, knock on wood.
Cleaning my bolt, I got the bright notion to check out the firing pin. Best I can figure is when I was driving out the retaining pin it must have got under the punch.
Short answer: carelessness.

Mine broke during a string of shooting. I got the last one from the factory distributor in Canada. About 8K rnds through it at that time. $100.
My only concern with these things just an empty chamber click after each mag will start to add up after 10,000 shots...
(1/10 shots its 1,000 dry fires)

I called Beretta to try and buy a spare last month and they said they didn't have any but told me Midwest Gun Works carries them. Of course, they are OOS. I signed up to be notified.

I signed up to be notified too. Maybe call Beretta again? They were in stock when I called this week.

Do the 16” guns shoot any different than the 20” guns?
I have the 17HMR and 22LR in 20” guns and they shoot great.

For those looking for a different chassis/stock option under a thousand bucks, the GCP/Vision forend for the T3 version of the KRG Bravo bolts right up, and looks great. Stiffens things up quite a bit over stock too.

Only 750 dollars for both pieces.

CaptNemo , you have the keg trigger on your t1x ? How do you like it , how low will 1st and 2nd stage adjust ?
Sorry for the delay, - Very happy with the trigger, I robbed this one off of one of my centerfire rifles. I have 2 of the KRG's as well as a light spring OEM trigger.
I use the T1X in NRL22 and have been happy with the performance and have used it in hunting rifles as well.
I haven't put a pull gauge on either trigger but i would guess about 6 oz. on the first stage and another pound and a half on the second stage.

Is there some modification that can be made to eliminate the "standing a round straight up in the magazine" malfunction that occurs when running the bolt fast?

Club stage that was as many hits at 100 in 20 seconds today. Standing one up cost me serious time.

When I push down on the bolt handle at the same time as I push it forward I don’t get the rnd pointed up misfeed. When I plant my shooting elbow if I don’t concentrate on pushing down I get a mis feed. It happened with the factory barrel too. I haven’t tried shimming the mag well because working the bolt properly and deliberately works well.

Yep, mostly prone when it happens. Figured it would be more of a bolt/receiver mod than the magazine.

I lost the plastic thread protector for one of my Tikka T1Xs and need to replace it. other than the 30.00 replacement plastic piece from Tikka is there another option.

The threads are 1/2-28. Lots of places supply them. Almost any gun store. Not hardware stores though.

Why not? That zinc plated nut from Lowes would look sharp on the end of your barrel.
Not even fastenal carries the 1/2-28UNEF.

Besides cadmium plated looks cooler.

The - 28 is the Extra Fine. Best you're gonna find is 1/2-20UNF.

Theres more 1/2 inch threads than people think. The only ones that stores are likely going to have are the -13UNC and -20UNF.

Sad thing is that I had a Savage mk2btvlss come with a 1/2-20 thread.

Sent it to LRI to be fixed with 1/2-28.

spent casing not ejecting properly and causing jam ups in feed/magwell

seems to be a common complaint
Thread that talks about modifying it:

So, feeding and ejecting seems to be an issue. Plus side is that my CZ is enjoying the extra attention

OK , there is the thread posted above me about modifying the ejector spring/wire/thingy or you could wait it out. Mine had ejection problems at first as well and it went away somewhere between 500 and 1000 rounds. It would occasionally still have weak ejection on the last round of the magazine after that but eventually around 5000 rounds even that went away. Runs perfectly now.
