Well IMO prosecutors are lazy. A plea deal puts one in the win column quick and easy. No one wants to risk an OJ fluke. If he did manage to lose the case he is done in that job. And he can always blame it on the family not wanting to go through the trial and not wanting the death penalty applied.

In this case, I'm thinking the will of the public is outweighing the desires of the family. And they (public) will roast this prosecutor for not meeting their requirement for justice, as opposed to meeting the family's desires. After all, "murder" is considered a "crime against the State" not just the individual family victims. The state needs to secure justice for "The people..." not just the family.

Having studied some mysticism when younger, the Bible a bit later, and philosophy at University, I pondered all that pretty deeply. Infinite and Eternal are really interesting. In an absolute sense I reckon only God is both of those. If he created the universe, then they are finite if he says so. But the concepts are facinating. Consider, you get in a vehicle and travel at the speed of light for a million years. Relative to infinity you havent moved, because no matter how far you (seem) to travel, youre no closer to the end because there is no end. Or beginning. Or if you live a billion years realtive to eternity, its less than a speck of dust. And this thing we call God is way beyond that. Perhaps the best description I've heard, other than God is Love, is:

Correct, but she was a type of proto-Christian and forward looking to a Redeemer that God said would come. Recall that after the fall God skinned a deer a provided it to Adam and Eve as covering, which was the first sacrifice to cover sin and a prototype for what would come. Then Eve had Seth, whom she saw as the appointed seed to replace Abel. Eve believed God, and believed that there would be divine restoration. Gen 4:25. So, yes, she was not Christian but she was believing what God told her that He would come. The saints in the OT looked forward to the Messiah even though they didn't know the full details.
Its also interesting that it was Seth's lineage where people started calling upon the Lord. Seth's lineage also leads to Christ. She wasn't totally wrong, and for sure wasn't wrong in trusting God. There was a long time between Seth's birth and the crucifixion, but if there is a better way to show that God keeps His word I don't know what it would be. The Bible is full of examples of His faithfulness to fallen, sinful man.
