Well IMO prosecutors are lazy. A plea deal puts one in the win column quick and easy. No one wants to risk an OJ fluke. If he did manage to lose the case he is done in that job. And he can always blame it on the family not wanting to go through the trial and not wanting the death penalty applied.

But at what alternative cost? The wrath of the "public" for not giving them what they want?
In this case, I'm thinking the will of the public is outweighing the desires of the family. And they (public) will roast this prosecutor for not meeting their requirement for justice, as opposed to meeting the family's desires. After all, "murder" is considered a "crime against the State" not just the individual family victims. The state needs to secure justice for "The people..." not just the family.
Y'all relax, in two more weeks this will all be 2nd page. The next crisis is just around the corner.

true. won't tell us much before trial. normal. trial,if one goes,could be months. so,we wait. my paranoia says that when trial is done nothing will pop up because people forget,move on to the next disaster. it will be harder to lie and obfuscate before a trial jury and aggressive defense. odd that some big name def lawyer hasn't grabbed the case for publicity.
