I've had a Vortex 6-24 PST on "order" for over three months now with no delivery date in sight. I'm getting impatient now. I'm debating canceling the order and getting a similar Weaver Tac or looking into the SWFA SS line up. My goal is to set up a weapon for 1,000 meter shooting. I will mount the scope on either my RRA LAR 8 Predator or a Remington 700 chambered in 300 wsm. Any advice from members that have hands-on experience with these optics will be appreciated.

i own a pst 6-24. if i were u i would get that one. if u want second focal plane they are on ebay now. my buddy has a weaver. but i like the vortex more and they have an excellent customer service. if i were u i would look around till u find one before u cancel your order. give europtic a call they are great guys to work with.

I can justify spending up to $1,200.00 right now. I'm not going to compromise on a second focal plane scope, I feel the market has come to a point where we can get ftp glass for my budget.
-midkansasguy, you mentioned that you own the 6-24 pst, did you get a chance to use the 4-16x pst? I've called a couple of vendors that tell me it is the same quality glass as the 6-24x pst, but here on the forum, many people are saying the clarity is appears to be better with the 6-24x pst. Personally, I think the sales reps. that I talked to are just reading the same sales sheet that I'm pulling up online. That's why I respect our member's opinions because we are out in the field actually using the equipment. Thanks guys!

Could add the Bushy GDMR/HDMR into this as well, for that money, or close to it......

i've got a SS 5-20, and shot my 308 out to 950y. It works very well. 10 mils per turn is a great feature and the turrets are awesome. they are both audible and tactile.

I've heard the same thing about the glass being better on the 6-24x. I'd like to know if this is true or not as well.

well i helped a buddy on a build and recommended the pst to him and he got the 4-16 sfp and i like it. but i didnt think there would be a difference in picture quality so when i looked thru his i thought yea looks pretty good but i did not do a side by side comparison. and every time i look thru mine im like damn that looks good. ive never owned a scope that is that good. whenever i upgrade i will upgrade to the razor for sure. i will tell u that the weaver looks pretty good but i wasnt really to impressed as i was with my pst. my pst is so clear at 600 its crazy. cant imagine what a s&b looks like at 600. but seriously look on ebay everyday, i did and when they had it i called and had mine in 4 days. but dont cancel your order till u find one. a lot of guys on here helped me track one down. they are hard to find for a reason. definately wait its worth it. let us know how u like it when u get it

That happened to me, as well. I switched the order to a Bushnell Elite Tactical 6-24x50 (ET6245F). It was only $40 more than the Vortex PST. Nothing against Vortex, I was just tired of waiting and had heard good things about the Bushnell.
