Cheek Piece / Comb Raise

I've been a SH member for a while and would like a little advice on fitting a cheek piece to my rifle.

It's a Sako Quad heavy barrel (SAKO QUAD Heavy Barrel) in .17HMR with a Falcon 5.5-25 x 50 scope, used mainly for rabbit shooting here in the UK. I've got the scope as low as I can by using mounts just the right height, but have found that I'm not getting a clear sight picture sometimes and am lifting my cheek away from the stock to solve that, and think I need a comb raiser of some sort.

Does anyone have any advice / pictures of anything they've used? I know the Karsten one needs drilling in (which would be a pain) but is adjustable, and I've seen some neoprene ones and even things made from mouse mats. It doesn't need to cope with any recoil, nor any rough handling. Any advice welcome.

Thanks,
GDSO.

McCrazy,
Thanks - that was the kind of thing I had in mind. I'm not averse to something permanent but it would need to be a proper job to make it worth it. Has anyone used the Karsten version?

I have a Karsten on my quad and I like it, I have a 50 mm objective and without a cheek riser it didn't work very well. It was very straightforward to drill the stock, its hollow plastic. I think it looks good as well. Don't have a picture but maybe one of these days...

I've used this one on my HS Precision stock. It works perfect for me without having to drill into the stock for a Karsten.
Cost me $30, Blackhawk Hawktex IIRC. It is adjustable, you can add more material into a pocket built into it. I use 2 of the 3 pieces of foam provided but more can be added if needed. Holds my cheek really well, without slipping, and can be adjusted to fit different size stocks.

Larue makes a similar one as well. Just stuff cloth underneath till you get the right height.

These are much better options than I got. I have a chote stock and I had to build one out of foam and tape. I have to redo it every time I clean. Sucks. I need a new stock.

I have a Choate and I bought a piece of Sorbothane from Amazon. I cut the size I needed and glued it in place with Goop shoe glue. Perfect.
