I've been a SH member for a while and would like a little advice on fitting a cheek piece to my rifle.
It's a Sako Quad heavy barrel (SAKO QUAD Heavy Barrel) in .17HMR with a Falcon 5.5-25 x 50 scope, used mainly for rabbit shooting here in the UK. I've got the scope as low as I can by using mounts just the right height, but have found that I'm not getting a clear sight picture sometimes and am lifting my cheek away from the stock to solve that, and think I need a comb raiser of some sort.
Does anyone have any advice / pictures of anything they've used? I know the Karsten one needs drilling in (which would be a pain) but is adjustable, and I've seen some neoprene ones and even things made from mouse mats. It doesn't need to cope with any recoil, nor any rough handling. Any advice welcome.
Thanks,
GDSO.
