Finally got to take the Boom-sticks out after a few months of collecting dust. Rifles used were my Howa 308 semi custom varmint rifle and King Dick of my collection, an Accuracy International Arctic Warfare in 260, aka "The Dragon". While the first was fun, the AW is the reigning champion of badass. The target was a 2'x2' piece of rusted steel about 1/8" thick with a silhouette spray painted bright orange and positioned on the side of a hill about 415 yards away from the firing line. The Howa punched a few holes between myself and two other shooters, however the amount of dust it kicked up caused it to have a failure to fire, dust clogging the firing pin caused a light strike, but after blowing it out, the 308 huffed the last 178 grain Hornady pill downrange into the steel. With the plate still standing taunting the gun, it was time to unleash the Dragon. The specs: AI AW with a 22" Bartlein Barrel, Spuhr 6 mil mount, Nightforce 5.5-22x 50 mil/mil scope, Atlas bipod and monopod and a Victor Co. cheek-rest. The Dragon's breath happened to contain a 142 SMK with a mv of 2785 fps. After dialing 1.1 mils for elevation, and .2 left for wind, it coughed 20 times and left the steel dead in the bush with a 3 inch group on the head of the silhouette. After the target slid down the rocks and out of reach, we figured we would call it a day. What better way to put a rusted piece of steel in check? Here is "the Dragon" in all its glory: Hope you all enjoyed the tail of "the Dragon"

This is akin to: "I took my 370Z to a trip to the 7-11 and it fouled the plugs so I went back and took my Aston Martin Vanquish and that got the job done....."

This is a walk in the park for any AW or properly setup Howa/M700/FN/etc ..... Where's the story in that?

Have a heart, he put in pictures.

If I had a howa and an AW I think the howa would collect dust in a safe for a very long time

The Howa does collect a lot of dust, kind of like being married as long as I have, it's more like a neglected sense of obligation than actual enjoyment. It's going to get a new stock and scope next year, but yeah, the AW gets most of the trigger time, and more attention than my wife.
