I ordered GAP-10 Jan 24 2013. I received notice my rifle is complete Jan 16, 2014 and ready for delivery. Just FYI for those in that crazy Jan ordering time.

For those of you at GA Precision that read this. I sincerely applaud you for *NOT* rushing orders for the sake of pushing rifles out the door!! If people can't figure out that when they order a made-to-order rifle, in these political climates of weapons, that it'll take some time, they should just get a shelf gun. So, THANK YOU, George and crew for keeping to your standards and making some of the sweetest supersonic lead slingers out there!!!

Great speech. Now show pics or it didn't happen.

I ordered mine 4 days after you, I hope mine is ready soon!!

Talked with Noveske at Shot, switch blocks will be shipped in the next 2 weeks. If your Jan 2013 order was made with a switch block it is probably done but waiting on this one part. This will have some Early Feb orders with the standard block passing up January switchblock orders. Sorry Guys its out of my control but were doing our best.

Thanks for the heads up George,
Will you be getting enough Noveske blocks to run out February orders as well?

No noveske for me, I hope I'm soon! :)

George, can you expound on the issue with Noveske a bit more? Any idea why orders made a year ago are being held up by a single part that a supplier should have been able to source or make within that year? I have a hard time believing that switchblocks from a single supplier are THAT in demand. I'm not pointing the finger at GA, because your explanation is backed up by my own sources at SHOT. It just seems like totally BS service from a supplier that they can't deliver a part in the original 6 months much less a year+.

Also is there another supplier of a similar part that could be substituted for the Noveske? Is there something magical about a Noveske SB what makes the GAP more accurate? It just seems to me that at some point, someone at GAP might have thought to themselves..... "I'm going to have a LOT of pissed of folks that have been waiting on a rifle for over a year because of one small part. Maybe there are alternative sources out there that are just as good". Or is Noveske a single point of failure?

There is a standing order for the noveske parts, alot of companies use them. And last year there was a 700% increase in sales of AR parts for the months of Dec12, Jan 13, and Feb 13, march was 300% its not even possible for all those companies to just increase productions to those levels. like I said we are doing the best that can be done. I understand the frustration but its just as frustrating being able to do nothing about it. There is not a substitute for the block they have a patent that protects it. Noveske said they will be delivered in a couple weeks, I believe them! There are enough parts in this order to complete Jan- And February orders. there are more parts from them on order backing that up.

Yep got enough to cover into march and more on order to cover from there on. Once we finish the March orders we will be back on the times that were quoted to orders. everybody past March was quoted a year wait.

Thanks for the response. Again, I wasn't pointing fingers at GAP. Just trying to understand why that part was a single point of failure. I didn't realize they were the only one making that.

So on new orders.... the folks that order the rifle without the switchblock are getting quoted a shorter build time? If so, I'd bet that a lot of folks bypass the Noveske SB and go for the other option.

Just got the call that my rifle is ready! 1/28/13 order.

I had a call a couple of weeks ago that they had run out of SSA-E triggers and I could wait for more or upgrade to the match. I elected to move up to the match trigger. I did not order a Noveske switchblock. Now comes the wait!

George, what is the best way to get an estimate for a build? Thanks in advance.

George:

I absolutely love the look of your Rock rifle & considering odering one but have a couple qustions:

Can a Rock be built using your new Templar V2 action?

If so, how much $$ for the upgrade??

Thanks for help & info!!

Ok, I keep checking this thread. Man, my 12 month is fast approaching and I keep thinking this is the week I'll get a call for my can. Anyone besides me, getting more anxious as time goes on?

I want to personally thank George for giving up one of his Jewels for my re-work of the hospitaller. I assure everyone the work is worth the wait. Here is my first day out doing load development with the new stick @ 100 yards.

Thanks again GAP and George!

Diego

What range is that?

So is the current expectation for Jan-Feb 2013 orders to be delivered around the one-year mark? That's what it seems like from the most recent few delivery comments.

Tomorrow will be my 1 year order date... No switch block either.

Ok...I have been really...really...really....really, patient. I am not one to whine and moan. BUT...I have had a gap10 on order since Feb 12th last year. I have nothing special ordered for this rifle. No switch block. No fluting. Nothing really additional than the basic .308 gap10. I was quoted 8-10 months delivery. Its quickly nearing a year wait now. I have not whined about it, as I know there are others that are also waiting beyond the original quoted delivery. But, I have to ask...with nothing out of the ordinary that others are waiting for, is there any part or parts that could be holding my order up??

Secondly...a buddy of mine and myself placed an order for a 6 Creedmoor bolt gun via re-barrel within 2 days of each other. The only thing I ordered that my buddy did not, was cerekote of the stock parts. My buddy got his rifle 3 weeks ago today. What gives? I am pretty patient and granted, I do not have a competition I am needing my rifles for by deadline. But, I really cant understand why I am waiting now going on a month longer for the exact same rifle when I placed my order exactly 2 days after he placed his order for the exact same rifle.

I understand that there is a high demand and orders are coming as quickly as they can. I just hope that I have not slipped through the crack somewhere. I know GAP makes the highest quality rifles and they are worth their wait, which is why I remain patient and have mostly been quietly waiting. But, it would be really nice to get some kind of update of where my rifles are at in the build process.

Any help guys?

Any help guys?

Have you contacted anyone via PM here on the hide, or called one of them at the shop. I prefer not to tie up lines so a quick PM here on the hide to Ken will def result in an answer.

Just so ya know, My GAP10 was ordered In January of '13 and was only a week or so shy of 1 year. It is what it is and GAP is pumping them out as quick as they can while still maintaining what has made them famous. I know how you feel. The boys at GAP will get it to you man.

For what its worth, I have shot mine out to 995. Groups at 100 and 500 are all 1/2 moa or better. Stay sane and open man. It'll happen.

I can answer that, We are still on January orders. There were loads of them ordered in January, February was about 1/8th the amount of January, So February will go alot faster. By March is was almost back to normal. so march will go faster and by the time April rolls around were solid as we told everyone my mid March it would be a year wait. Nobody could guess as to what would happen and how the craze of orders in December and January would do to the market. Im not happy with being wrong but Id like to say we were close. If you have a Feb 12th order, I would say you will get it buy the end of February or beginning of March at the latest.

On your Bolt rifle. If you ordered finish and your buddy did not that would easily explain it as it has 2 more steps. and the stock gets painted at Either Manners or by Shortbus or T Jackson so 2-4 weeks for finish is normal. In fact if you just send your rifle for paint its a 4-6 week quote.

Just be patient, it will get done and get done right and you will be happy !! :)

Thank you for such quick response, George! I will remain patient. And, I have no doubts whatsoever that I will be happy with the rifle work. The quality of the work has never been a question
with me. I just want to go shoot!! :)

Got an email today for final payment and FFL info saying my crusader is done. Almost exactly two weeks from when I placed the order. Don't know if I'm lucky or called the right time. But I'm super excited.

For what it's worth on you guys still waiting.

I had a custom build bolt gun with a surgeon action and a few other parts that are noted in this thread as hard to come by that was finished up yesterday. Just a few days over 13 months from order and was originally quoted 12 months before the all out gun craze went into full gear after 2012. Considering the action, jewel trigger, and a discontinued muzzle break that I wanted plus what the last year has been like in the gun world this is a good build time and delivery in my opinion. Thanks GAP and especially Ken for dealing with me on multiple occasions the past 13 months. Looking forward to getting some time with the new rifle and making up my mind for what to have you all build next. 6.5 SAUM F-class might be the ticket.
