Same old story. Reduced BC or greater speed. With the newer Hybrid bullets and one called the Jaugernaut in 185 g, what is the best for a .300 Win Mag. Hoping someone tried the all in 168 to 210. Must be delivered in a magazine so cannot go deep in the big VLDS like they prefer.

What speeds are you getting with the 168 Hybrid, 168 Hunting VLD, Jaugernaut???, etc. Looks like the recommended twist changes quickly among them pretty much putting the pressure on to get it right the first time!!

If you give examples, give barrel length as well.

thanx

230 Hybrid Target. 28" Kreiger 1:10 twist 2900 fps. SS to about a mile depending on atmos. And I can fit them in my extended magazine due to a short throat.

I have found the 215 Hybrid a great choice for long range shooting and hunting in a 300 win.

If you have one of the larger case offerings the 230.

Lighter lower BC offering may start faster but they also slow faster. The higher BC heavies will arrive with more retained velocity, energy and less drift down range.

Jaugernaut in 185 g. This is what I was told by Berger to run in a 30-06 for ELR. oal, transition if need be, both reasons given.
I went with a 280.

I'm with Bigwheels. 230 OTM for me though. 3.620 Coal (AI mag length ) is good to go out to about 1800 yards and is as DEADLY on critters as it is accurate. Shot two deer with that load out of a 30" Broughton 5c. One at 443 yards and one at 656 yards.... Both never heard a thing. They were DRT.
I've shot the 230 hybrids ALOT but I have to single feed. And for target shooting that's fine, but for lr critters that may need a follow up , the 230 OTM jump tolerance is hard to beat. If I could just mag feed the Hybrids!!!!

Why are you limited to mag fed COAL if you want to load for ELR?
