Just a quick message to both RRS and Hoplite Arms (@MPHReallyRightStuff @THEIS ) and those who may use their products.

I recently purchased (on a whim) RRS's scope leveling kit (and no, I'm not getting into a debate on how much it's needed) because it was fairly priced, and I wanted something to have on the bench other than a deck of cards. At any rate, it's been sitting there, and today I finally got around to moving my Revic scope to Hoplite's monolithic unimount (similar to a Spuhr) this morning, and both the mount and the scope leveler worked like a champ (in fact, had to lightly tap the wedge out once everything was tightened down).

The mount mated up nicely (and barely) with the Revic (which has a huge Elev/Windage assembly) and has some very clean lines. I'll be ecstatic when the accessory mounts are available in the future.

Great job by both companies making some quality products!

    Hi,

    Glad you like it!!
We are doing some R&D in hopes to facilitate a large more robust level in them.
Now we can add the Revic to the fit list because it was one we were concerned about in regards to the rings being far enough apart for the scopes adjustment housing. They do not fit the BEAST cause of that issue.

    Sincerely,
    Theis

    The BEAST is dumb anyway.

I have the Ariska version of that leveling kit, not sure who released to product first but the Ariska kit is well made.

Won’t work on my deer gun w Leupold Mk IV medium (lowest they make) rings at .84”. Won’t fit under the Viper PST scope turret.

I also have a Leupold MK V HD in ARC rings and the mechanical leveling kit worked very well and very easily. Nice alternative to bubble levels or at least another way to validate your level.

Question re the Hoplite one piece and Revic scope. Looking at you pic, it would appear that the only way to adjust eye relief is by moving the whole mount on the rail as it doesn’t look like there is room between the rings to move just the scope itself.

Or am I not seeing this correctly?

That is correct; you need to shift the entire mount...which is how I normally do it with any mount/rings, once the scope is leveled in the rings.

As a side note........You'll experience the same need to move the mount if using Spuhrs with Minox ZP5s, ZCOs or Tangent Theta. All of them have large windage/elevation sections. So, don't look at it as a deficiency on the Hoplite, it's not. No experience with it, but it's probably the same situation with an RRS mount.

    @MarinePMI
Thanks guys. I’m not long and lean and have also moved rings back for eye relief to stay a bit away from turrets.
I was just curious if I was seeing it correctly, not criticism.
    Cheers
