Hi anyone here have a Monstrum FFP scope 8x32x56 ? if so do you like it? Thanks. I just had a Millitte 6x24x56 lrs 1 go south on me. not happy it was on a 338 lapua with a brake, and not shooting hot loads just middle charge weights, Berger 300 gr, so recoil was not bad. Power zoom ring locked up then chips of junk all through inside of the scope, It is at Bushnell for repair or replace but havent heard from them outher than sending my shipping charge back. 338 l no scope on top ,I am Pissed.

Well get what you can afford. Just know the 338 lapua is very unforgiving and will likely break any of the lower end optics.

Had an issue with them on my LAR-8. Recoil was to much. Works just fine on .300 blackout or 5.56

I have a cheaper Muller scope on a 300 ultra mag, that kicks more than my lapua, the 300 dont have a break, no problems with tracking or anything, thing that scope was around $175, 8x24x50, never any problems, I know what you are saying man I get it, I would get a nightforce in a second if my money was not tight, I just herd that Monstrum scopes were very good for a cheaper option, I just wish companys could make shit that last.

If money is that tight, ditch the 338 lapua and buy a 6.5 creed or 308. Even if you lose money on the sale, you'll recoup that in ammo costs quickly.
No way will trade a 338 Lapua for a 6.5 Have way tooo much money in the 338l , I like big hammers and when I get the money I will get better optics , but for now was just looking for cheaper options, I had herd good things about Monstrum scopes, but they only come in MOA< I like Mil but can use either, What I dont want is a MOA scope with mil dots, I want MOA reticle or a MIL scope with .1 mil ajustments.

SWFA fixed power
My Millette was rated for a 50 cal, it lasted about 60 rounds and broke, It says life time warranty, I had to send it to Bushnell but cant get them to reply on the statis, they have my scope in the shop, not sure if they will fix or replace.

Why all the crazy big calibers?

Perhaps a trade to something with less recoil and more affordable to shoot?

Then shelf that thing until you can afford a decent scope.

I once had a big investment. But she was a whore. So I took my losses and moved on. Something to think about.

I dont mind Recoil and I have been shooting heavy calibers all my life, I have outher heavy calibers with cheaper scopes on them and they have served me well. I like big guns and I am not going to change, sorry just me , I have no problem if someone like a lesser caliber but I have seen and used lesser calibers on deer, and I have never had any run from my 300 ultra mag, never, I have had them run with lesser calibers, so that is why I prefer big guns. and yes those shots were all in the boiler chamber,

Sorry to hear about the loss from the whore. I had that happen twice, lesson learned. I also belive a cheaper scope can handle recoil I have a Muller on a rem 300 ultra mag and no problems at all 10 years into it. and it will cut holes all day long and tracks well, My original question was if anyone had used a Monstrum scope, but all I get is get rid of that gun and get 6.5 or something to that effect, I like my big hammer 6.5 wont cut it energy is not there at long range.

Well, perhaps a job as a greeter at Walmart to save a few $ for a better scope?

Or get you a Riton. There was a thread talking about how great they were.

you could always go with a vortex if it does go bad for any reason ever you can send it in to the and they will repair or replace either with a new one or an updated model ever . just not sure on all the different models they have and there costs . good luck and I would not trade in a gun ever either , but I am a hoarder for firearms I just wanna have own and shoot them all .

Reputable optics companies do make products that last but you gotta pay for it. Cheap chinese optics are going to break and break a lot quicker on a heavy recoiling rifle like a 338. It's not rocket science.

This is the first scope I ever had a problem with, and I have been looking at the vortex and Night Force, I will get one of thoes but right now I am on a budget, and not too happy with the covert 19 my wife has to re apply for her job at the hospital because of this shit. anyway not looking to ever get rid of my guns too damm hard to get, LOL besides ya can never have too many, some tell me to drop down in caliber no way I like big hammers, that is just me I like to know what is on the receiving end is going to Die and die hard and fast. I do own some lesser calibers and they are in the safe.

I have cheaper scopes on big guns they hold up fine and expensive scopes break too, I was trying to find out if anyone here has a Monstrum scope and if they like it. They are made in USA according to their web site. I truly understand what you are saying and I app your input, I agree on the China shit, I did not realize my Millitte was made there, my mistake.

I was shooting with a buddy a couple weeks ago. He invited another guy, who proceeded to tell us how great the Monstrum red dot on his 9mm glock is. Less than a hundred rounds later it was belly up, the dot was wandering.

Come ask for advice. Everyone gives similar advice. Tell everyone they are wrong.

Just save up for a Valdada Ior. Best that money can buy. Don't listen to the haters. You won't be disappointed.

@LibertyOptics is having a YUUUGE sale on Sightron SIII's. The 6-24x50 has a FFP mil reticle. The turrets are only 5 mil per turn, but you never get everything you want in a scope (especially for $500)

Repeatedly throwing out the phrase "lesser caliber" on this forum as a transparent attempt backlash at guys who are relating their honest experiences with cheap Chinese optics to you is not necessarily an effective strategy. Plenty of members here have a magnum setup or two and multiple short action setups all topped with quality glass and that's why you weren't able to get a rise from anyone with your tactics. Plenty of members here have also learned their lessons buying the cheapest Chinese optics and when they were forced to upgrade it was more costly in the long run and that's what they've tried to communicate to you to help you and save you time and money.

Not sure what u mean, I was not bashing lesser calibers, just my experience with them, But alot of guys here think ya gotta drop $$$$$$$$$$on a scope I beg to Differ? As I have said I have cheaper glass on guns that kick more than my lapua, and they have held up just fine, I dont have $$$$$$ coming out my ass. I guess I cant fit into your elite club? anyway no one awnsered my Question about the Monstrum scope all I got was Bashing. only a few understood my posititon. I like big guns, Sorry. I will find a scope that will work. and in the future I will install a Nightforce on it but right now no. Everyone keeps saying Cheap china scopes Monstrum is made in USA.

Swfa for now. The reason why nobody answered your question is because we buy better and don’t have any experience with it. For now swfa.

Assembled in USA with imported parts, just to be clear.

Why not? Why all the under guns?

Hi,

You should consider upgrading your scope options to a make/model more suitable for 338LM.

At minimum IMO would be one of the mid level scopes from vortex.

If you are affording $5 bills coming out the muzzke end of barrel then you more than likely can upgrade your scope options.

Sincerely,
Theis
I reload so IM not sending $5 bills out the end. What about a vortex Razor ?

I talked to Monstrum and they say their will hold up to a 338 lapua, and they have alot of customers useing them on the Lapua. they are FFP and made in USA, The only thing is what you guys dont like it cost $$$$$$$$less than a Nightforce, down the road yes right now Cheaper for me.

Out to 1800 yards till my scope went belly up. Millette 8x24x56 mm .1 mil

Exactly what range are you shooting?
I ask a simple Question if anyone had a MONSTRUM 8x32x56 mm And I got awnsers like we dont own them we shoot better well if thy dont own them how in the hell do they know That is why I ask if anyone had one ? still waiting for my Question to be awnsered ? I am new here and already have be shit on with my first Question Im not talking to you by the way.

I don’t have a swfa I’am using nightforce. Swfa is going to be the best thing you can afford right now.
