One protester shot and killed in Austin. Approached the wrong car with a rifle and the driver went 'hot.'

In Texas, a vehicle is considered and extension of one's home. I'm sure in Austin, this law will be challenged and changed.

Try and break into someone's vehicle when they're inside should win a Darwin Award.
Agree. Austin sucks, It's embarrassing that it's the Capital of TX. It' been invaded by all the West coast tech companies and their attendant skinny jeans hipsters and "homeless" (druggies) from Seattle and the like. Houston and San Antonio are just as bad. I fear for this state. At least where we live in central TX it's still solidly conservative but that will change too. You know, my wife and I are really kind of hoping that the schools don't reopen and we can home school our grand kids. They are 7 and 4 so if any one has any suggestions on any on-line curricula it would be appreciated.

Ok so you and your car are surrounded and ATTACKED by a mob and a member of that mob approaches with an AK47 in an aggressive posture to shoot you, you take out the biggest threat: the guy with the AK. Case closed, self defense. Isn't your car an extension of your domicile (home), I believe it is here in La? Just my two cents?

If Biden and the Dems take control of the White House and Senate, your car won't be an extension of your home, it will be your home.

Well that was easy.

We will have to call in a biohazard team to shovel the shit out of this thread.

"My source's-----the internet".

Brahhhhaha my ribs hurt

Separately: I don't think our castle laws will come down anytime soon.

I wonder though - does this move the country along an escalation path or is this a singular incident with no real impacts beyond this dead dude, the medic and the guy defending himself?

I can see where all of this is now headed: Garret Foster is already being made out to be a hero that ended up being a zero on someones firearm. Riots and protest will continue in his "honor". His crippled commie soul mate will be grieving and should be compensated(NOT). Oh she will sue the city of Austin and the P.D. because the cops did not protect them and the protesters. This is my view of the near future.

Yup, he's already a hero and martyr of the Austin 'community.' I expect a street to be named after him and some local unemployed bum / musician with no health insurance to write a song about him.

I sure hope all those peaceful protesters are claiming their Soros bucks on their income taxes. 50 days could equal some significant taxable income. Maybe the IRS needs to investigate. BTW, who investigates and prosecutes RICO violations ? U.S. Department of Justice ?

The fuck. How did he miss.
... former airman...

I kid, I kid...

People seem to keep forgetting that Austin, is in fact, part of Texas, and despite being full of Californians, is also full of, get this, Texans.

Try some terrorist shit, try shooting up a church, well we can add mobbing someones car with an AK at the low ready to the list of of "How exactly did you expect this to turn out?"

If this has been previously posted I missed it.

So apparently, the dude with the AK was not the guy that shot at the car. Someone else that was part of the protest did and the dude with the AK just happened to be the one that they presumed shot at them and well you know the rest...

There are probably more than 100 security cams that have good visibility to the area this went down.

And you know they have already been reviewed...

Can't wait for a statement from the drivers lawyer. Hope he had ---View attachment 7384747
Hey, completely off topic........

Old 3M really pulled a boner by starting to put the part number on the blue painter's tape. I "used" to use it for labeling all my stuff by writing on it with a Sharpie. Smooth move 3M.....

The updated picture does make it look like the Communist was approaching in a manner that would cause a reasonable person to be in fear of their lives.

Conflicting information floating around.

Looks like Mr AK47 fires 5 rounds near the car, driver fires 3 rounds and kills Mr AK47

How does this medic fit into it.

I'm fairly certain medic fired the last series of shots at the passing good guy's car, according to his 'debriefing' cell phone text to his Lt. or Capt.
And yes, those commie fucks have a military chain of command.

^ That would make sense. However, I believe the Democrat DA will bring charges against the driver and the other shooter will not see any charges filed against him. It's Austin you know.

Then we better respond by showing up armed at the capital building and demanding the law be applied justly because this could be any of us!

previously posted by Quickndirty, but never debunked. There's a lot wrong with that presser.

I've been biting my through this train wreck of a thread, but that presser pissed me off.

For starters the Chief (Brian Manley) called it a homicide???
Wait, what you questioned shooter, let him go & are calling this a homicide! Semantics matter there Chief.
Then again it may have been an honest slip indicating how he really feels & inside knowledge the DA is hell bent to make an example of shooter. From his gov biography page "he led a delegation of APD officers during the 2009 Presidential Inauguration in Washington DC " Hmm?

Next we have..........We will be conducting an autopsy to determine official cause and manner of death! Really..........maybe it's actually Covid with a pre-existing condition of 4-5 gun shot wounds.

Then he praises officers for running towards the gunfire. Good on the officers, but he leaves out that per his orders, they were pulled back to begin with.
If this Ass-hat had let the officers do their job and keep protestors to a defined controlled area, instead of marching down the middle of the fucking streets & harassing passers by, this could have been prevented.
He said the officers were following the march (again I'll bet per his orders) instead of controlling it.

This dickhead represents a big part of the real problem with law enforcement Chief = appointed vs Sheriff = elected. This shit typically doesn't fly in Sheriff's jurisdictions.
Chiefs set stupid ROE's for officers based one who their beholden too, and in a City like Austin, Potland, & Seattle that'd be leftist Demonicrat scum.
Chief Manley's job was threatened until he fell in line to his fellow comrades.

Recently watched a program/youtube from Glenn Beck ( I think) interviewing someone. They showed the military structure/makeup of Antifa/blm protests and was gobsmacked at the organizational structure of it. The multi element (G1,2,3,4) structure and "fire support" elements. Until this, I had been only casually aware of the detail of it. And definitely not the scale, even though brothers in other agencies have spoken about some of it. Knew culling was necessary, but not the extent of same. The KC "brickpile", and Chicago umbrella video brought it home. Already on enough lists, but man, just ...never mind. Just gotta protect the family and pray I'm not on the news at 6, with video at 11...again. Cost me enough last time.
