Did Biden Admin Ordered ERCOT To Throttle Energy Output By Forcing It To Comply With Environmental Green Energy Standards? - USA SUPREME

Turn off and blow out unnecessary water lines. Blue-board shelters around stuff that needs to work. Leave the water dribble out of a faucet since moving water doesn't freeze.7 days to what, put insulation in their house, build fire places, and cut firewood?
I did the prep thing; insulated pipes, wrapped faucets, went back and let them run, not just drip both inside and out, kept heaters going and cupboard doors open under the sinks, put a heat lamp on at the well tank, etc. and the pipe coming from the water tank with a heat lamp 14" away from it under a tarp still froze as soon as the temp fell to12*.Turn off and blow out unnecessary water lines. Blue-board shelters around stuff that needs to work. Leave the water dribble out of a faucet since moving water doesn't freeze.
And unhook the damn hoses from the hose bibs so they don't freeze.
Propane tanks and heaters, fuel for generators, etc.
You know, all the stuff us northerners have prepared all year long normally.
Millions of people, where they almost never even use heaters, on 7 days notice, who have mostly probably never seen a freeze, and have no idea how to prepare for it, should have been abe to round up all the recourses they needed for this in 7 days. I bet there aren't enough fuel powered heaters in that part of TX to cover 1% of the population.Turn off and blow out unnecessary water lines. Blue-board shelters around stuff that needs to work. "Prepare for winter storms." If by that you mean laugh at the people who clear out the store shelves every time it starts snowing, or power goes out for a day. Then, yes I do. Its mostly the TX and CA transplants that are too afraid to drive on the ice. The way they drive its no wonder, I am scared for them to drive on the ice too.Obviously not. Get food, water. What else? You are in Colorado, surely you prepare for winter and cold fronts with Chinook winds. If not, I can help you out. I learned real f’n quick at 9k feet.
Read what I said, help each other out. This isn’t a prep for yourself and fuck everyone else thing. It’s do what you can and contribute where you can, accept help where you need it. How is this misunderstood? How is self reliance that extends mutually into the immediate community such a foreign concept these days?
You are most likely correct, but that said, Hit pieces like this was all President Trump had to deal with on an everyday basis. If he fed the US poor the left would spin it that he was neglecting world events. If he worked on world events, the left would spin it that he doesn't care about the the poor people dying here in the streets right here in this country. No sir, i will not take the high road. Those days should be behind all conservatives. The left now gets the same treatment they saw fit to dish out on a daily basis. As I said earlier, they deserve the same amount of respect as they gave......ZilchI’m no Biden fan, but the headline in this is hyperbole. Did they try to enforce green standards? Maybe. Probably. But did they want Texans to die to the point they enforced green standards to ensure it?I don’t think this is accurate.
FFS, even if this were true everyone should have had enough self reliance to get ready and meet it head on. There was damn near a week of warning even if you didn’t have preps. Then Texans could have helped Texans for what, 7 days, while it blew through? Blaming Biden for Texans’ own lack of preparation isn’t correct. We need to have our own house in order and take responsibility for our own lack of action. We are Texas, not a liberal, dependent shithole. Except for the transplants who have no sense of responsibility. The elderly rests upon the rest of us to take care of as well.
What has this state become?
I think lariat meant...people didn't learn the lessons from the "Three little pigs" fable.Obviously not. Get food, water. What else? You are in Colorado, surely you prepare for winter and cold fronts with Chinook winds. If not, I can help you out. I learned real f’n quick at 9k feet.

Arctic blasts get down to the coast more often than people think. It snows on the Alamo couple times a decade. And we get ice storms that coat the roads almost every year. 2014 we had the big blizzard come through the Metroplex that gave cobblestone ice on the roads. It happens.I have some empathy and feel for those that got hit hard by unusual weather event for their AO, two things- the nations power grid is old weak and vulnerable, plenary have sounded the warning on that.
Two a quick Google Fu search showed me articles about “Texas blizzards” and “deep freezes seeming to become more frequent from the late 1950’s up through today- with a couple large events in the 90’s. Loosing power, pipes freezing that’s not any individuals fault, freezing to death in ones own home- a few minutes of cardio and a couple of blankets????
My AO had its most costly storm in state history about 4 years ago come March- straight line wind event- basically a tornado state wide for a sustained few hours. And the event brought February cold back down from Canada . Few million out of power, fired up the wood stoves - ect. Guess it just comes with the territory here in MI we can have 100+ days and 3 years ago had two entire days of -39.9 in January. So be ready for either extreme.
Okay lost the point of my rant, to sum up- hope the best for the Texans , the power grid along with most other infrastructure is decaying rapidly. And not being a native Texan it looks like cold snaps and even snow events are not unheard of, several hundred of them since late 50’s now it’s up to everyone to not get caught with pants down on the next one.
You said it much better than my attempt; get caught with your pants down- shame on ya , learn from it prevent it from happening again, get caught by the same emergency time and again and its totally on you.Arctic blasts get down to the coast more often than people think. Tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, winter storms, 90 days over 95 degrees, droughts. We get it all. None of it is a surprise. The big thing for us all to do is learn from it so that the effects in our personal lives are minimized. Not doing that is the biggest shortfall that leads to cascading failures.
TX is purple. No doubt this drive from a lot of southern states (TX, AL, NC, FL) to recruit from KALI and DC is going to destroy what made these states great. Already done so in NC, AL is becoming more blue each and every day. TX is just about blue, I know all you Texans don't want to admit it; but it's true.I’m no Biden fan, but the headline in this is hyperbole. Did they try to enforce green standards? Maybe. Probably. Now, here's the reason I replied to your response: "this is hyperbole." First, what is not hyperbole in the news today? So what if it is "hyperbole." .Did I not read AOC and those idiots want to bring Trump up on criminal charges of murder due to cutting the environmental regulations and other things? If Trump had done something they would not call it the Biden administration they would directly name TRUMP.
And yes, I lived near Eglin AFB, and in the 2 years I was there I saw 18 degrees a few times on my thermometer. This isn't that unusual. People have already forgotten the 2000 snow season in the South. It'd be against the narrative to bring up historical fact.
Well said! Sorting through it all, natural gas not flowing seems to have contributed as much to the failure as anything, power plants were starved. Not exactly what we want to hear.Arctic blasts get down to the coast more often than people think. It snows on the Alamo couple times a decade. And we get ice storms that coat the roads almost every year. 2014 we had the big blizzard come through the Metroplex that gave cobblestone ice on the roads. It happens.

Then a few minutes later the internet went down due to towers icing over then the power went out.
The power came on and off every few hours, we used the microwave to eat, no stovetop cooking taking longer than frying bacon and eggs.
Temps rose and I went to the store where the shelves were bare and a sign on the empty bread isle saying '1 loaf per family', just like in 3rd world communist countries. We came home to see water gushing from the pressure tank at the well where the frozen pipe broke. Plumber said get on the list, it will be at least a week, maybe longer to fix it. Tomorrow Ill be pulling the water tank and try and fix it myself.

If you consider I've experienced over half a century of Texas weather, which included using a canvas tarp as a tent, the same material humans have slept and lived in during survival situations, coupled with a heat lamp under it, you may want to rethink your stupid comment.A tarp isn't insulation.
I know it's snowed in Texas before. If you can't be prepared for the weather that happens every 10-20 years, you may want to rethink your survival plans.

He’s been running for a little over a month. Do you think it’s possible he did fast work like that? So, it was bidens fault?
They had the energy capacity but were basically told to fuck off?
Don't come to Texas when your people are chasing garbage trucks for something to eat. Last thing we need is more foreign know-it-all trash coming here telling us we're doing things wrong and you did it differently in whatever shithole state you ruined.I know cold.
You know what was entertaining in Williston? All the Texas boys that came up with the ideas on how to fight the weather. They were educated on what actually worked, but were too stubborn to listen until it cost them money.
You Texans sure have an attitude on taking advice from those of us that deal with those temps for months at a time every single year. You'd rather tell us we're wrong and Texas is special, when you should be learning and applying what's being shared.

On arfcom there is more than one thread of Texans asking yankees for advice on what to expect and how to deal with it. Thats where I got my 'advice' on how to prevent frozen pipes.
Whoa cowboy....you sure are painting Texans with a broad brush. Why the hate with such a small sample? All of us didn't freeze last week.I know cold.

I saw Biden passing out the White House fire wood while Cruz was on vacation.Ted Cruze said bye Texans. Time to go to Mexico where I keep Mexicans out of Texas.
i thought everyone said texas was energy independent as part of why they could secede...?

Just do a little research, read just not what you normally want to. Natural gas wells froze, once storage capacities were emptied, those plants could not run at capacity if at all. Coal fired plants were down for scheduled maintenance which is standard procedure for low peak times, which winter normally is there. However, if the energy capacity WAS available then why not approve for emergency timeframe use? Sounds fishy and politically motivated....nah.
