Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

Was just going to post this as that is how they should be torqued per Manners. I have always done mine both centerfire and rimfire like that also.

Just get a Timney HIT or TT Special or Diamond if you need to go under 1 pound. They all work just fine with no timing or messing with. Set weight and shoot.
@Rob01:

Triggers are very personal. My go-to trigger is the Bix'nAndy 2-StageTacsport PRO with a gator shoe set at about 8oz. I have used several for years without issue. The trigger weight is easy to adjust and goes to 3oz. They will continue to be my go-to trigger. However, the Bix'nAndy 2-Stage Benchrest trigger seems a different breed of cat. However I am certain Timney also makes a fine trigger.

Rick

Just trying to put out some triggers that work every time in a Vudoo without issues. Use what works for you.

Just took possession of my Vudoo barreled action today, literally about 2 hours ago. So I'm in the midst of just checking things, anything, everything. Placed the action into the Manners stock (mini chassis) and checking fit of all the magazines. Total of 5, 4poly, one aluminum. Aluminum and two poly fit perfect, clean audible click, drop free. Two poly will not seat or almost seat but will pull free. After looking for small differences between the go and no go mags I noticed a small burr at the top of the no go mags. It is really flash from the molding process and a mere few thousandths, but this is a precise system so that's all it takes. Used a fine smoothing file to blend the flash away and the two no go mags are now perfect. Took this Pic before I fixed both to illustrate the issue. Hopefully smooth sailing after this.

Just got the call today that it's not only finished but on the way! Dang MB you guys are fast from no parts to a finished rifle! I can't wait to give this new case of tenex a go.
A lefty one?

First time out at 100yds today and am impressed! Did not include the shot to the right as it was the first and I was trying to find my holdover. Haven’t yet set the zero stop on my scope, but holdover was right at around 2 mil from 50 yd zero. This was Midas +

Thank you for the great tip. My build starts Monday🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

Looks like the AT-x chassis will be made for a Vudoo.

Yessir, sure will. I spent all day yesterday with the awesome crew at Accuracy International; we put it together and I doubt there will be slack time during the weekend when the rifle isn’t being shot. Stay tuned for more on this in the very near future....

And I just put my new 1:9 twist Vudoo in an AI AT with AX buttstock. I want this one now.

What great news! Definitely gonna buy one for my Vudoo!

Has anyone tried the "new" CenterX in their V22? I didn't think too much of the re-design on the box - until I took it to the range this weekend. I have tried dozens of Lapua and SK offerings and lot numbers in a few different V22's, and they all shoot relatively similar groups. But not this. I have never used bulk-box-junk ammo in my Vudoo's, but guessing it wouldn't do any worse. Really weird and curious. My first thought was "offshore knock-off", but the ammo appears to be exactly the same.

The other groups in the photo are SK+, SK Long Range, and an old lot of CenterX. Pretty typical out of this particular rifle (20" Bartlein/Kukri). The horrible one's circled in red are the new CenterX. Glad I didn't buy a case of it.

Wondering if anyone has had similar results.

No, didn't know they changed the packaging. Probably a lot that your rifle doesn't like. You can send it to me and I'll take a look at it and let you know how it shoots out of my Vudoo. 😁

I did open new brick of Midas a few weeks ago and the there's a lot less lube and it feels a little different and smells a little different. At least to me. The new stuff smells like crayons. It shoots great though. At least this lot. Shot a match from 50 to 408 and my elevation was perfect using G1 and taking chrono before the match to make sure FPS was good.

I’ll have to test the brick I got last week didn’t know what to think when I saw the new packaging hopefully it shoots better than that

Something is wrong with that center x ammo I get better groups with cheap ammo in my vudoo.

Yeah that is a terrible lot. Never had any of the lots I have shot look anywhere near that. That would warrant a call to Lapua.

I agree about the call to Lapua that ammo is too expensive to be shooting like that.

Yeah, thankfully they only had 3 boxes left by the time I ordered or I would have a lot more on my hands to deal with. Thus the post - mostly a "heads-up" for anyone that has purchased a large quantity. They may want to try it out sooner than later as this seems to produce groups 3X the normal compared to any SK or Lapua that I have tried.

I'll attach a pic of the lot number in case anyone is interested.

I had a box of center-x was before the new relabel that shot like that in my v22 it was worse then cci sv. just gave it up to a lot that my rifle didn’t like, center-x is hard to come by where I live so haven’t been able to try it again.

Took my Vudoo out for the first time today. It was a pleasure to shoot! I was able to put pretty much everything I shot in the same ragged out hole at 50yds. I was also able to connect with 10in steel all the way up to 400yds. Very happy with the purchase! RimX is expected in from Altus in a few weeks. Looking forward to see how they stack up against each other. The Vudoo will be hard to beat!

I got a case of that new center-x lot, they only had one case and I went ahead and bought it. It doesn't shoot as well as my Lapua tested / matched rifle which was to be expected but it didn't shoot horrible either. Mine is 2555xx lot #. My groups were .35 whereas my groups with my lot tested ammo is usually around .25".

I did notice that the new Center-X fed amazing. Not sure what was different if it was lube or case shape or anything, but wow I've never had any of my ammo feed that smoothly. After shooting 2 5 round groups of testing, went back to my lot tested center-x and could immediately notice a slight difference in feeding.

I'm going to order a new Vudoo on Tuesday, then after 16 weeks of waiting for it to get built I'll have to get it lot tested again. I might have a lot of ammo to sell if my current stash doesn't shoot well in the new Vudoo.

This may affect other people besides me who are now receiving barreled actions from their late 2020 orders. Trigger Tech seems to have had something going on from last year, I picked up on this though the bolt gun thread on the hide. Just got my BA last week and installed a TT diamond that was purchased last year when I placed the order for the action. Right after install it didn't sound perfect but it wasn't until the first trip to the range that it showed full-on. The trigger would click and then require a hard pull to release. Flushed it with lighter fluid and air jetted it out and it completely went away. Hope it's not just a band-aid fix but I'll find out over the next trips to the range.

I would contact TT and get that replaced. Shouldn’t spend that much and have to mess with it and wonder if it will work.

We'll see with mine, I'm in the same boat - ordered barreled action last November and TT Diamond at the same time from TT - now just waiting for BA to put it all together....

TT will replace. Had a couple locally have same issue. TT sent new ones. I got a Timney so no issues for me. 😁

The thread "Triggertech diamond issue" started by Adam B in the bolt gun forum has a little video clip illustrating it exactly.

The 1K rounds I got from CC has from Lot # of 22556/700446, so different from those listed above. I'll try to shoot some Tues and will share findings out of my VGW.
One question for you pros. What constitutes a "lot number'? The entire number or the portion left of the slash? Thanks.

Ultimately I'm sure that's what I will do.
Right now, just got the rifle together, awesome weather in the south and even took a couple of days off to shoot and praying the band-aid works.

I also seem to remember reading that a portion of the lot number represents which machine that particular lot was produced on (first digit of the lot number, normally 5, 6 or 7 in my lots?), while a portion is the actual/sequential lot number (maybe the last 4 or 5 digits?). Can't remember for sure.

Anyone run a 22" Kukri? I'm thinking I like the length but don't need the early mass of the MTU. Save me some weight and get similar balance or throw my internal for-end weights towards the muzzle of the chassis. MTU has a lot of heft near the chamber of the barrel.

Do you have a 22” MTU?

I run a 22” Kukri with an AICS chassis with AX buttstock. Nice balance no additional added weights needed.

1:9? woah! how you get your hands on that? and what kind of results?
Just have to request it when ordering. Vudoo will tell you they don’t guarantee the same accuracy with it as some shooters have experienced not “very good” accuracy. Shot my for the fist time Friday. With SK Std+ And Federal UM22 it held 1/2 MOA at 50 yards. Didn’t take it out further due to winds 15-20 mph. Will be doing more testing soon. Also waiting on the cutting edge solids to compare against standard ammo in the 1:9.

This is interesting. What made you get a 1:9? Just to test or was there some kind of bump to say yes i want a 1:9? i'm very curious how the 1:9 works with regular match grade 22lr ammo such as sk LRM
