I can believe those numbers on a stock height/tire size truck ( maybe one size up). the lift and 35's kill me, but I love the look. It also gets used. It is for all purposes a crewcab version of the '76 highboy I grew up in and then later owned.

Some days I think about lowering it back down, because I don't need it like that as much, also the tires are fucking loud. But I ain't giving up on my youth so easy.
So, what I hear you saying is,,,, you're looking at "spinners" with some "large-rim, low-profile" tires, to match the flat-brim ball-cap.... right?
:D

Sorry but not sorry for the momentary derailment. Now I gotta get a "House Guest" to put the lotion in the bucket......?
Did you wear "the gloves" ? I know what you did....?

Cant go wrong with a Kenworth. ?

The Paccar motors are junk
Oh I thought they were still using Detroit. Then again Kenworth is first rig brand I think of. I dont know much about them other than love the sound of big diesel. Of course in that department the Napier Deltic rules the roost.

Just did 250mi run in new F350 6.7 diesel towing a 19' enclosed trailer w/ light load at 70mph. Too short to calc the right way but computer MPG = 11.2.

I have a 2016 F250 Powerstroke and love it. Truck is built and the motor pulls like you wouldn’t believe. Zero issues with so far.

Last ford I owned was a 2001 7.3L. Motor was great, but it was a dog. Wouldn’t touch a Ford 2004-2013.
6.0’s were pieces of trash, but this new 6.7 is a hell of a motor.

Well the 6.7 came out in 2011 and the 6.4 was before it which was also a pretty decent motor also the 6.0’s were very problematic like you said.

I had some buddies with issues on the 6.0 but once bulletproofed it was a good motor, I loved the way they sound deleted.

your correct, but the 6.4 had issues blowing turbos and hg issues as well. I wouldn’t touch the 6.4 either. Better than the 6.0 but not by much.

if you could find a 7.3L 99 or earlier they came with the Forged Rods. Late 99 I believe the went to PMR rods and couldn’t take near the HP. Anything over 400hp and you were asking for a hole in your block.... Forged rods were good for 500 or so.

seema like the transmissions were hit or miss though. You either got a good one or you didn’t.. lol my dad blew his in his 03 500 miles out of the dealership.

I hear ya I have a 6.7 myself with just under 465,000 on it it’s been a great motor, and I would get a 7.3 before the 6.0 or 6.4.

For sure! If I could find a 99 7.3 I’d be a happy camper. Funny how far they’ve come, to get the kind of power out of a 7.3 that we get out of these 6.7’s you gotta dig deep into them pockets! Me and my dad built his 7.3 up. Transmission, forged rods, ARP studs, single shot injectors, turbo, fuel system, tuner, HP Oil Pump,Turbo back exhaust, air cleaner, live tuned and dyno’d at 450hp 1100 ftlbs. still don’t think it ran as good as my 6.7 but it would roll coal for days and it was fun as hell to drive. It was a sleeper with his tool box and pipe rack. Lol

He bought it back in 2003, and its still his daily driver....

That’s awesome I would like one just for the cool factor it wouldn’t matter how fast it was to me. My 6.7 has a dpf and egr delete with a few other add ons it runs pretty good I’m happy with it.

Love my 7.3 - with a DPTuner chipset and 285/16 BFG's I'm getting 17mpg around town (no coal rolling Priusessess's) and around 20 on the interstate. If I'm having fun, obviously not getting those numbers.

Spent some money this year chasing an oil leak, but she's been a great truck for the past 15 years. Wife constantly asks me when I'm getting rid of it and the answer is always NEVER!

YMMV, pun intended

Dp Tuner is money! . Jody has them 7.3’s dialed. Met him down in Holtville, Ca at Jim Woods Automotive when he live tuned / dyno’d my dads truck. Only way to go! And that mileage is right on par with his tunes when your not “rollin coal” lol. That drastically changes things. Hehehe

and if you’re ever in the market for a transmission, John Wood is the guy...absolutely bullet proof

Some early ‘00 models still had forged rods

You guys see the deal GMC is running right now? 84 months, zero percent, no payments for 120 days?

I have a ram 3500 tradesman dialysis with the full front bench. It has the high output and set up for hot shot. No problems so far. I noticed most of the hot shot set ups were ram and got on one of they’re forums before I purchased. I bought it new. Empty,I get about 16-18 city 18-20 highway but I’m on the coast. I have a cdl and have been over 30k combined with no problems. I see a lot of guys standing on the throttle every where they go and suspect that might be cause for problems with the emissions equipment. I gear down pulling long steep hills and let the running gear do the work . I like the looks of the other brands better but in the end, I took a look at what the hot shotters were running and so far so good.

and you probably will pay full MSRP(or close to it) vs. the normal 10-11k discount... Usually the zero percent deals are in place of any discounts/rebates.

What does a 2% APR over a more normal 60 or 72 month with a 10k dollar discount net you?

Its about 70 bucks a month more to do a 72 month at 2% with 10k off vs. 84 month at 0%.

What's the attraction to Starbucks? I've never tried it, but know several folks that cannot face the day without. When my son and his family visit, the DIL is up early to head to SB for a (couldn't tell you the multiple word name) every morning. Is it really that good?

I have a 97 OBS with the 7.3 in it. It is kind of a rare truck, single cab long bed with a factory 5 speed. Has already had the solid axle dana 60 put under the front. Been toying with the idea of selling it. I have 2 early super duty's and the OBS is kind of a toy, I just don't have time for a 17th project. Can give you some details if interested.

Just bought an F350 myself. 2020 leftover. Pull a 25-30ft trailer mostly for friends right now. Used it to move my house last month. 6.7 turbo V8 diesel. Getting about 16.0 city amd almost 21 on highway.

Plenty of power for whatever you would need it for.

Doc

Hi everybody, I'm a trucking journalist in middle east. please read an article about impact of USA sanctions on Persian trucking industry.

this post and link is for Awareness, please don't delete it : impact of USA sanctions on Persian trucking industry
President Trump withdrew the United States from the deal in 2018, claiming it failed to curtail Iran’s missile program and regional influence. Iran began ignoring limitations on its nuclear program a year later.

Iran needs to focus it's resources on improving it's infrastructure. America needs to focus it's resources on improving it's infrastructure...

Always amazed at the MPGs others seem to be able to get in their trucks! My recent crew cab duallies w/ minimal towing and actual MPG - not computer:

- 2019 F350 - 8k mi = 13.5 mpg
- 2015 RAM - 12k mi = 15.5 mpg
- 2011 F350 - 48k mi - 13.5 mpg

It was the 2020 refresh that the Powerstroke started getting much better fuel economy. Most are reporting 19-21 highway mpg. Ram has seen similar gains in the last few years. (If you have the Ram standard output as opposed to the H.O. even better) Also, you have to get it broke in past the 20-25k mile mark to start seeing the improvement.

My diesel is a 2004, so I have no dog in this fight.
