Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
Conrad The NF is far behind in glass and eyebox if you shoot both side by side. That's to say no issue seeing, shooting & self spotting a 12" plate at 1100 with the NF. If compactness is desired, the NF considerably longer. The clamped ocular TT cap also sucks. I had to remove entire cap cause...
Consider if you want the ergonomics of a tactical stock vs AR grip as well. Nothing worse than a great looking pair of shoes that don't fit. TRG all the way between those two but just be aware the TRG has possible money pit areas. If you are fixated on the TRG bipod its expensive and...
The AR and custom bolt action components is like picking a work truck ... go American. No doubt the attention to detail in hardware design and machining craftsmanship is great. Pick optics like you would fine cutlery or luxury car where German and Japanese high-end engineering refinement just...
the expected consistency/accuracy for custom is peace of mind. i.e. almost every custom will achieve your 1/2 MOA target but can you expect the same for rack grade? people pay for customs because you get exactly what you want. e.g., i don't want any hunting type stock not even a mcm htg, i...
Well pick the reticle you like brother! If it matters, EO still has the SB525 (non-MTC) in Gen2XR and MSR for $2649 and 5% discount may apply. That puts a new one at/less than the NF525
I'm guessing you didnt serve in the military. Over half the materiels and gear I was issued in the service, I wouldn't buy if I had to choose with my own money!!!
If using 4895 in a gas gun, start at the low end and work up. It's been many years since I loaded for the M1A as an example but 41gr 4895 behind a 175gr in LC was a hot load. Start 39.5gr and work up. As everyone pointed out, Varget or RL15 is a better powder choice.
Sounds like you fully researched and know your only option is the Atlas rail, unless you want to install new T-nuts just because you dont like how that rail looks ... which would be a dumb option.
The 6.5x47USA is much easier to spot because it emits a red, white and blue vapor trail! Honestly never heard of the "USA" variant but if I guessed, there were some early very short throat reamers for VLD loads that were so short even factory ammo would not fit. If that's the case, I would...
The benefit of the RPR rifle you choose is being able to swap barrels without sending in. The 6.5mm isn't crazy magical over the 308 --i.e. shooting 900+ you need to know your rifle, ammo, conditions, etc. Unless you are vested into 308 (e.g. tons of reloading supplies), choosing it over 6.5 is...
If your first rifle and completely unsure, I might recommend against the Surgeon. If you end up hating the mag lips, the larger footprint means you're stuck with it unless you get the stock filled and remilled. If you went Badger v2 and didn't like it, you could switch to Badger v1 if you like...
