Nice rig and shooting. With the barrel nut on a Remington do you have to modify the action?

I bought the same action you did from Jim also along with a shilen bbl. It's a 6.5 cm and will put 5 factory 140 amax in the same hole at 100 yds. What caliber is yours going to be? Interested to hear how it turns out.

Threads are 1/4''-28. You will probably end up needing to cut the bolts to a custom length. I did.

As already listed, surgeon, defiance and stiller are probably the most popular clones for tactical shooting. You will have a tough time getting a surgeon action these days. The stiller is a bit less money and well liked, you really cant go wrong with most customs. Actions tend be kind of a ford...

I recently bought a stainless varmint action, shilen bbl, lug and barrel nut from Jim. Great guy to deal with. Not sure if you knew this or not but the target actions are single shot only and large shank which seems to have fewer bbl choices without waiting. I am very impressed with this so...

I have a savage action going in a manners T stock. What length action screws did you use for the front and rear? The stock screw lengths are too short.

Thanks all for the replies. Minor typo in the original post, I was wondering about ring height since I don't have all my parts yet. I see there is only .05'' difference in height between the medium and next size up, should get the 1'' or the .95''? I'm guessing it must make some difference...
