Consistency. Take a look at a box of 175SMKs and look at the tips of the bullets and you'll see how much variation there is. Trimming and pointing helps consistency from bullet to bullet.
I think it depends on what the match calls for. If you are talking straight-up benchrest groups, bolt action every time. If you're talking tactical steel course with different positions, it may not matter as much.
I got an email from the 20-day old email address last night and a lady named Aleesha wrote that they are expecting a shipment next week. So, now we have it narrowed down to one week to a month.
I did call them today. Got to leave a voice mail with my info. The saga continues..... ETA: I just got a call from JD from MyWeigh. He confirmed that they are backordered. It would be about a month and that they received my return for warranty. He was nice on the phone and was pleasant to talk to.
After reviewing the responses so far, there is one thing I do not recall trying to gauge and that is shoulder tension. I am a big guy and I don't think I have ever noticed if my am applying tension from my shoulder on the chassis. I will have to get behind the rifle and make sure I am not...
Recoil straight back. I have been up one side and down the other of this site and found numerous threads and links to youtube videos about how to get the rifle to settle back on the target. I have tried different shoulder positions, aligning different ways, different hand holds, and different...
As an update, I have moved on to the next step in the process. It has been over 20 days, so, following their website, emailed the appropriate address with the information for them to trace my return. I will report back if/when I hear anything and what the next step is, if any. If I don't get any...
Hey All- I took my Savage 10FP out yesterday to try out some loads, but I wanted to do it differently. I wanted to do it kind of fast - what I might see in a tactical/steel style match scenario where you would fire multiple shots fairly quickly. Basically, I fired 4 fouling/sighting rounds...
Generally speaking, a factory stock will be flexible and might cause shooting errors. Most aftermarket stocks are made very stiff so when pressure is applied during firing, it maintains its form, taking stock flex out of the equation. Also, aftermarket stocks can have greater adjust-ability than...
Hello- I searched for a good while and may have missed this, but I have a question about changing cases for reloads. Lets say I am using a certain case with a certain reload and after their life has ended I want to get new cases. Now, I know it is recommended to rework the load with the new...
I read the website multiple times and did everything they said. One mistake I made is that I sent the whole package back, accessories and everything, which they say not to in a footnote. Anyway, the site sayd if its been 20-21 days, give them a call to trace it. I am going to call Monday and see...
To revive the thread a bit, I sent my 250 back for warranty three weeks ago. I have not gotten anything back, nor received replies to 2 contact email submissions. Worked for a year and then it wouldn't hold zero. Always used dry powder and never had any liquids around it during use. I am going...
