    Mauser M03 match- good idea?

Re: Mauser M03 match- good idea? Sounds interesting. The issue with S&L is that I don't see many distributors outside Norway or Danemark. Their website is crap. With Sauer I see less problem with servicing than with S&L. However, these rifles look very nice.

    Mauser M03 match- good idea?

My next purchase- what do you think? I love the action, safety switch, handling- it's just perfect. In terms of accuracy it should do just fine. I intent do purchase one in 6,5x55 with synthetic stock. What do you think?

    Savage- why always 26''?

I used to lean towards savage fcv but 26" barrel scared me. IMHO it's way too long. First of all, I will not shoot at more than 300yds (there are not so many such ranges in Europe). Secondly, as proven by the case of Steyr Scout, you can have pretty good accuracy at 300yds with 48cm barrel. So...

    Howa info.

Re: Howa info. Howa is nice and it's cheap. I am really considering howa varmint in 223 for my next purchase. Originally I wanted to purchase tikka, but having handled howa, I must admit they look and probably shoot just fine. The price Tikka is charging in Europe for their guns is 30% to...

    30-06 vs .308

Re: 30-06 vs .308 In Europe 30.06 v. 308 is rather a generation debate. 30.06 is a caliber shot by our grandfathers and fathers.I met yesterday a guy shooting his new Sauer 202 in 30.06 and asked him who had advised him to choose this caliber, he told me it was his granpa and his colleagues...

Rifle Scopes Ballistic Turrets for Kahles Competition

I purchased recently a Kahles glas and suprisingly target knobs are in plain black... no ballistic scale on it. Therefore, I am currently looking for ballistic knobs that would fit. Any idea who might sell those?

Finally shot my new Howa .308 today...

Re: Finally shot my new Howa .308 today... Nice post and pretty promising groups! I am wondering about buying a Howa Varmint Supreme in 308. Could you report on your impression re recoil in this rifle? I am also concerned with the bolt opening- seems like 90 degrees... do you feel it...

Barrel fluting- is this all about weight?

Are ther really no benefits of fluting or maybe it makes sense? Is the only real benefit of fluting decrease of weight or is there any added value in terms of stiffness and accuracy? What is your experience on this?

    Sako/Beretta doesn't accept customers' inquiries?

Re: Sako/Beretta doesn't accept customers' inquiries? This kind of pissing on customer relations may follow from the fact that they have so many orders placed for sako/tikka rifles that probably they started to believe it will continue indefinitely. I spoke recently to a gun dealer who just...

    Sako/Beretta doesn't accept customers' inquiries?

Recently I tried to submit my inquiry conserning their barrels to Sako Finland. Suprisingly, they provide no e-mail address on their website: Sako's homepage the same referes to beretta: Beretta's homepage It seems to be a Group Policy not to bother about customers' inquiries.
