Re: recomend a good bullet puller +1 for RCBS collet style bullet puller. I have never had a problem damaging bullets. I had an impact puller but it always damaged the bullet nose. I have bought several different collets for different calibers. Now, I just make my own collets. I even made a...

    Gunsmithing Soft jaws for lathe

Re: Soft jaws for lathe I use small strips of brass or aluminum. About the size of the jaw contact area. I use double sided tape to hold in place. I have used the same pieces for several years now. I just remove the tape when it is no longer sticky and reuse.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Ruger Super Redhawk 44 magnum

Re: Ruger Super Redhawk 44 magnum Thanks Bigwheeler, I will check my scope mounts. I don't shoot a pistol that much. I am fairly certain that I will never shoot 3000 rounds thru this gun, but I wish that I had that much spare time. Too many irons in the fire I suppose.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Ruger Super Redhawk 44 magnum

Re: Ruger Super Redhawk 44 magnum Thanks everyone. I had been thinking about 240 gr. But we do have some hogs and bears have been seen getting closer and closer. Last ones that I heard about were about 60 to 70 miles east of where I hunt. So perhaps I should think about some 300+ gr. I will...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Ruger Super Redhawk 44 magnum

Re: Ruger Super Redhawk 44 magnum Thanks everyone, I plan to check into all of this and do a variety of loads. And see what works best for me. So far, I have been shooting some factory 44 mag rounds. I have been very surprised with how little recoil there is. Looking forward to loading some...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Carry gun - Your thoughts?

Re: Carry gun - Your thoughts? I normally carry my Kahr PM45. I carry an extra clip when possible. If the little Kahr cannot be concealed then I carry my North American Arms 22 mag revolver. I like the Kahr for the following reasons: 1. 45 for the knockdown 2. Double action only for round in...

    Gun Safe Recomendations

Re: Gun Safe Recomendations I recently bought a Fat Boy Jr. It is a Liberty safe. I prefer a manual combination over a digital. It is not the best safe. But for the money, it was the best buy I could find. I got it for $900 plus tax. It weighs about 800 lbs. And my brother and I unloaded it...

    Kit reloading .50

Re: Kit reloading .50 I have a Lee as well. I may step up to a RCBS in the future, but for now I will make the Lee work. I could not find a bullet puller to fit the Lee, so I made one. It works real well. It screws into the press and uses a collet just like my smaller RCBS puller.
