Gunsmithing GOOD wholesalers that dont require a storefront?

For those of you w/ FFL's and tax ID's and retail merchant certificates, what wholesalers are you using that you have been happy with the selection, pricing, and shipping charges? Currently set up w/ sports south and i HATE them, but at the other shop i work in the wholesalers (ellet brothers...

Gunsmithing Home shop pics, lets see them.

Re: Home shop pics, lets see them. When using the magnet for clean up put a kroger back over it, that way once its full you can just pull the bag off the magnet and all the chips just fall into the trash can and your magnet stays clean.

Gunsmithing Home shop pics, lets see them.

Re: Home shop pics, lets see them. Disregard the mess. Its always messy (I apparently LOVE clutter) but its a little more messy since i am amidst rebulding my south bend 13" tool room lathe from 1944. Lathe and Mill Welding table Parts washer Tool chests/job cart Work...

    Gunsmithing 6mm reamers?

Re: 6mm reamers? I looked REALLY hard at the Competition match, but had such a hard time finding ACTUAL data that someone was getting, not someone speculating that i dropped it off the list. Everything i read i liked but I couldnt even find what brass it was made out of or where to get...

Any real benefits to 6mm SLR?

I know the 6mm debate has been going on for a LOOONG time and my head spins anytime i try to research anything 6mm. It seems anytime i find information its either contradicted by another source, or there are more people talking about other wildcat options than the one i am actually...

    Gunsmithing 6mm reamers?

Looking into building my First rifle once my south bend is rebuilt. i THINK i have settled on the 6slr. Longer barrel life, and equal velocites as the 243. It seems optimal for me since i am not 100 percent sure if i am going to run the 105s or the 115's. and NO fireforming is involved. will...

Thoughts on this combo for LR hunting rig

Re: Thoughts on this combo for LR hunting rig What would the primarry differances be between the x55 and x47? Ill google it also, but sometimes its just easier to let the thread progress and get the answers that way also. Would either be OK, for bear (closer ranges) and moose (perhaps out...

Thoughts on this combo for LR hunting rig

Re: Thoughts on this combo for LR hunting rig Would an elk round be similar to a moose round? About the only other hunt besides whitetail, and speed goats i can see doing would be a bear/moose combo at a friend owned fly in resort in ontario canada. If this round isnt up to speed i could...

Thoughts on this combo for LR hunting rig

Not sure if i really have a specific use for this, but my lathe is almost rebuilt and i am thinking about what i want to build. Right now i am heavily leaning towards a remington action w/ a 6.5x284 Possibly AI? Probably on a 22 or 24 inch medium contour fluted barrel w/ a vias MB. Thinking...

Re: Zero Lathe experience. Is it possible? I am 100 percent self taught. Albiet not on a lathe YET. Here is the best advice i can give you in no certain order but all equally important. BUY THE MACHINERY. If you dont have it, you can never learn it. EXPECT TO SPEND ALOT ON TOOLING even...

Gunsmithing Need some quick lathe advice

Going to look at an older south bed lathe today. Person will take 1500 probably less. Has had a motor replacement 5hp is way to much for the belt drive so will need to be replaced, family owned for the last 12-15 years. Probably a 1.5 spindle bore and over 24 inches through the headstock so i...

    Gunsmithing Wheeler Engineering Cerama-Coat

Re: Wheeler Engineering Cerama-Coat I think its a good application for just a small job to make something match. Like the BS zinc screws from home depot when you need a scew NOW, and cannot find it in steel anywhere.
