    Re: .308 win. recoil For most .308's, a 12 GA kicks quite a bit harder in my opinion. I've shot some light weight 22" barreled .308's that had me scared to pull the trigger after about 10 rounds. If you're very worried about it, have a break added and it'll shoot like a .22.
