Gunsmithing front sight on flattop ar can be seen in my scope

Re: front sight on flattop ar can be seen in my scope If you focus on the target and not the front sight you won't even notice it. You might want to shoot it a few times before you get to cutting the front sight off.

    Noveske AR-10

Re: Noveske AR-10 Armalite barrels will fit in the DPMS receiver. The threads limit the interchange of barrel nuts and handguards with proprietary barrel nuts but have nothing to do with the barrel extension fitting into the receiver. Headspace and the length of the lugs may be an issue, as...

    Armalite barrel w/ DPMS upper?

Re: Armalite barrel w/ DPMS upper? There is a significant difference in the buffers and springs used. The gas port should be different because of this. I would use the Armalite barrel, BCG, buffer, spring, and buffer tube (if carbine, rifle is the same).

Gunsmithing Threading a barrel without can

Re: Threading a barrel without can Use a gunsmith that knows something about tolerances and can thread to 2A/3A and gauge it. I want my next can/brake/flash hider to fit, if I want it tighter I'll bring the can and ask for it tight. Not threading to 2A/3A if the customer asks means one of...

Gunsmithing Custom AR-10 Lower and m110 magazines

Re: Custom AR-10 Lower and m110 magazines The AR-10 upper has a shelf to limit the seating depth of the AR-10 mag. The shelf does not allow SR-25 mags to seat even if the lower is for the SR-25 mags.

    KABOOM !

Re: KABOOM ! High primers or debris on the bolt face are not firing OOB they are slamfires OOB. Just because the hammer drops does not mean firing OOB is possible. Pull your BCG and hold the firing pin forward, then push the bolt to the rear, the firing pin will not protrude from the bolt...

    300 Whisper is here

Re: 300 Whisper is here Load up some cheap supersonic loads if you want to shoot it while waiting on the silencer. A rifle .30 cal silencer works very well. It's also the way to go if you have a .308 to use it on and the weight is not an issue.

    First AR!! Got some questions

Re: First AR!! Got some questions I'm talking about the taped on cheek pad on the stock. If you get a rail for the top or bottom it will bolt through the holes in the handguard. If you want it on the side you will have to drill a hole for the bolt.

    First AR!! Got some questions

Re: First AR!! Got some questions A bit of rail like this? http://www.gggaz.com/index.php?id=165&parents=38,44 I would reconsider the stock mod, with proper shooting position your cheek should be nowhere near that cheek pad. The carry handle is a notch to the rear of where it should be. If...

AAC BLACKOUT rifle - should we do .260 Rem?

Re: AAC BLACKOUT rifle - should we do .260 Rem? .260, threaded muzzle, and DBM for me. I say the cheapest stock with an aluminum bedding block, HS or B&C. The high end stock buyers want a stock just how they want it, never going to make them all happy. None of the other options are deal...
