    Wyatt's DBM feed problem

Sorry fella's for the headaches. I've taken your replies to heart and believe we've solved the problem. Last spring we shortened our follower springs on the 5 round mags hoping to make loading the mags easier for the end-user. Unfortunately, this came back and bit me in the ass on some of the...

Re: Wyatt's Outdoors Det Magazine vs Badger Ordinance Just for the record, we supported the Sacramento Tactical match last spring with a donation. We've always supported our troops and have paid our price in the military. I've personally supported the shooting sports for 45 years as a...

Gunsmithing FNH 300 wsm and Winchester Long action bolts?

Re: FNH 300 wsm and Winchester Long action bolts? Yes, the receiver, bolt stop, and ejector must be altered to use the extended box if it's the controlled round feed. If it's a push feed Win., the receiver and bolt stop need to be modified. The island of metal on the receiver where the center...

    Gunsmithing I @$#*&ed UP!

Re: I @$#*&ed UP! 65Joe, Make sure that the person you take it to knows what he's doing. Removing the barrel is a good idea as long as your action doesn't have a claw extractor. If it does, you'll be buying more than just a bolt!

    Soft primers/easy slam fire?

Re: Soft primers/easy slam fire? I suppose that this reply will show age on my part, but here goes. I carry a scar on my right palm from 13 stitches due to a slam fire back in the 80's. The rifle was a Match Grade M-1 Garand. Shooting NRA highpower requires 22 shots slow fire from 200 yds in...

    Gunsmithing Remington 700 problems

Re: Remington 700 problems I'll put my money on the chamber being rough. It only takes minute pitting in the chamber to cause the problem you describe. Inspect your fired cases in good lighting, if you see any machine marks or burnished looking surfaces, there's your problem.

Re: Barrel Threading question? Yes, the thread is the same. 1.062"x16. The counter bore is a tad different, but can be changed to fit a Rem. Also, the thread tenon can be turned down to fit a Win. M-70 or Ruger M-77.

Gunsmithing question about remington 1100 not cycling

Re: question about remington 1100 not cycling Check your 1100 to see if it's a magnum. The magnum barrels have 1 gas port, the 2 3/4" have 2. The magnum guns will not run light loads without modification. If it's a magnum barrel, the gas orifice can be opened up to allow operation of 2 3/4"...

    Gunsmithing SKS slam fires?

Re: SKS slam fires? I've got a scar in the palm of my right hand from 13 stitches and a Garand slam fire that happened some years back. The cause was a floating firing pin and soft primer cups. About a year after this happened, Federal thickened their primer cups. I personally saw the slam...
