    straight behind rifle

Thanks Frank. Never liked canting my head, have always tried to minimize that but not as well as I'm hearing can be done. Preferred to cant my alignment relative to barrel a bit to help reduce the need to cant my head. It is a goofy endevor, trying to acheive best results which makes it...

    straight behind rifle

Gotcha, we were on the same page regarding the shoulder pocket. I will have to take a try at using the placement you recommend. That will probably require some adjustments to the rifle to make it work, we will see. Not sure whether that will work for me in the prone, without having the butt...

    straight behind rifle

Overall those four shooters are all lined up pretty well compared to what I often see, but the two on the right both have their spines canted a bit from the barrel. That is about how I line up at this point but I'm sure there is more to learn. Indeed consistency is key:)

    straight behind rifle

I will watch the video, just looking at the initial pic it looks like the butt is in his shoulder pocket. May be we are talking apples and oranges when it comes to shoulder pocket? When shooting prone I don't see any other way. To put it centered on my body it would be under my neck and in...

    straight behind rifle

What I wrote pertained to shooting a tactical type rifle from the prone and in many other positions. Shooting a hunting rifle offhand, no the butt doesn't need to be in your shoulder pocket. Yes you can shoot a tactical rifle (heavy typically) with the butt on your shoulder instead of the...

    straight behind rifle

The but of the rifle needs to be in the pocket of your shoulder not on your collar bone (so that the top of but is not on your collar bone but below it). To make that happen you need to adjust the cheek piece, scope and length of pull as necessary. I know this because when I first tried prone...

Finally got it. Was wondering if it would happen someday:)

    Patriot valley turn time

Gee this is just great, my order for a prefit Impact cut rifled barrel went in Dec of 2018 and I'm still waiting 10 months later, meanwhile they come out with new products, efforts at high volume sales and people who ordered well after I did are getting barrels. Worst delay I've experienced...

    300 PRC build

Thanks for the info. I've got that tool MPA sells for modifying feed lips, makes it easy to bend them. Slight bends with trial and error can get you there eventually at least that is what worked for me on my first attempt. Have the MDT mags working pretty well. Haven't had a chance to work...

    300 PRC build

Eureka, I have one magazine, an MDT which I had tweaked a bit that now feeds! If I'm careful to set it correct. I will play around with the others and see what happens. I really like the KRG W3 chassis ergos. Just out of curiosity has anyone ran an MPA BA Comp with a Bighorn TL3 and CIP 300...

    300 PRC build

I've got the parts together which include a KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis and Bighorn TL3 action cut for CIP 3.85 length magazines. Been at it for awhile and am not getting the parts to play nice together and allow any decent kind of feeding. Have tried MDT and Accurate 3.85 CIP magazines. Any one...

    Impact Precision Actions

I recently found out that they have a weighted flat bag rider that adds 1.43 lbs and a weighted spacer that will add .66 lbs. They also offer a heavy angled bag rider that would add .9 lbs. Arca rails are also available. https://kineticresearchgroup.com/product-category/chassis-accessories/

    Impact Precision Actions

I'm running my first shouldered prefit which came from Impact and its worked great. Last time out with it had a sub quarter MOA 5 shot group with a 6.5CM. I try but don't always shoot that well but I believe the set up is capable of it when I am (not as often as I'd like:)

    300 PRC Rifles/Actions and barrels?

Thanks Dave, I lined up a prefit for this one already. My barrel is in the care of UPS at the moment. I'll get a hold of you for another barrel at some point. This one will be for a 300 PRC, I believe you know a bit about those:)

Thanks. Any idea if he does prefit barrel work for any of the actions?

Is Terry doing any work for the general public again? Be happy to go that route if he is:)

    KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis upgrade

That should be a great chassis. I got a chance to get behind one and love the grip.

    300 PRC Rifles/Actions and barrels?

Any one know if Dave does prefit shouldered barrels for Bighorn TL3s?

    KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis upgrade

Gotcha just wanted to make sure there wasn't an easy fix that was overlooked. I have an older McMillan with their thumbwheel set up and gave up on it. I ended up taking it off and just using a stock pack on that rifle. I understand re the itch for another rifle:)
