    Bullet Powder Combo not found

+1 on what 918v stated. Type of brass makes a BIG difference, especially when going between military and commercial. As always, work up the load, not down. Just my 2 cents worth.

Low flash powder for .357 Mag

Re: Low flash powder for .357 Mag Stay with W231 or W540!! We did an extensive test years ago shooting combat out in Colorado Springs. We tested in a gun range that had Star loaders set up in 9mm, 38SPL, 357 mag, 38 Super, 44 mag, 45 ACP, and 45LC. All revolvers were 4" barrels with the...

Gunsmithing Thoughts on bedding a heavy contour barrel.

Re: Thoughts on bedding a heavy contour barrel. I built one with a PacNor 26" x 1 1/4 ST to 1 ", bedded 1 1/2" in front of lug. Very accurate and consisent. Have only shot a couple of "hot" strings, barrel heated up with no change in impact. Rich

I am working on a friends M1A and have got to the point of bedding with AcraGlas Gel. We have talked about this for a long time and he brought the stock.... problem is it is for a select fire rifle, has the selector switch cut out in the stock, or that is what I think it is as I have never seen...

    Brass ?

Re: Brass ? I have a pretty good idea, had it happen to me. There was a small "chip" of metal or material at the shoulder area in your new barrel left after chambering or from shipping. Just those few thousandths difference between factory rounds and your reloads caused the problem I am...

    Brass ?

Re: Brass ? I would say your old barrel was right at the "field" gauge. I have one question though, with your old loads resized after shooting in your old barrel, did you have primers that were backed out? If not, I am somewhat curious as to how much difference a factory load mics as compared...

    Precision Mauser?

Re: Precision Mauser? I went the Mauser route because I had one that had sentimental value. This is what I did to it. Took off everything but the action, was a 1910 Amberg. Decided on 30/06 to save messing with bolt face and mag box. 1) lapped the lugs until bearing was as equal as I could...

I would like opinions on this one, please. Have a 1934 Win 52 with scope blocks. I feel the "classic" combination would be a Unertl or Lyman All American. Will be used for 100yd matches, 3 position. Am using Winchester T22 ammo. Rifle LIKES it!! Tried some 10x ( after heart slowed down from...
