I have a few pistols and a sub-sonic only 300Whisper AR that I want to use an IR laser pointer on. The normal pistol ranges will be 25 yards max and the normal 300w range is 50 yards with some shots at 100 yards. I have seen the pics of the .7mw IR lasers and at25 yards they about cover an 18"...
Thats weird. I called and talked to the guy that takes the orders and he refused to do the job without the action in hand. Same for SAC. They didsay that once they had my action they could make notes about sizing and they would not need it for future jobs, but not on the first one.
I have called several of the major gunsmiths including GAP, SAC, and several others. They all requested I send in my AI action in order to have a barrel made. They all said there is a small tolerance difference in the actions that they would prefer to eliminate by havingthe action on hand. If...
If you have a pistol length gas system then a no brainer easy accuracy load is a 220 Sierra and 8.4 grains of Lil Gun. A 208 Amax with 7.9 will work also. Make sure you have a nice amount of neck tension, like .0025-.003. Super accurate in every 300 I have tried
I have an AIAE in 6.5x47L. Handloads work fine, I just tried some factory Lapua ammo with the 139 Scenar, it would pierce about 3 or 4 out of 10 primers. I checked pin protrusion, it was .051", I screwed the pin in a half turn, pin is now .037". I fired 21 rounds today and they all worked...
Your problem is donuts in the base of the neck. If you then seat a bullet in the case and the full diameter section touches the donut, the case neck will enlarge. The cases can not be fixed easily (probably at all). The solution is to seat the bullets out far enough so they do not touch the...
My observation is that if you taped up the rear guide screw so there was no forward-back movement, then you might not have full recoil lug contact. I would check that.
I have 2 AI AE with several barrels. I have had 2 Kreiger barrels from mile hi and while extremely accurate they had very very very short throats. This caused the bullet to be deep seated in the case and a corresponding hi pressure situation for what were normal loads in other rifles. Either...
The only reason you need clearance on the sides, bottom, and front of the recoil lug is so that it does not scrape the bedding during installation and forcing the residual bedding compound to the bottom of the recoil lug recess, thus holding the receiver up off of the bedding job you just did.
I love the AE, I have a MK I and a MK II and they both exceed my expectations. One has a Zeiss Victory Diavari and the other has a S&B both in AI 18 moa mounts. I would recommend the 5-25 S&B without MTC and without locking turrets.
Does the PTG unithroater come with a pre installed pilot? Or do I pick the size I want when I order it? I have a Kreiger .243 barrel, any recomendation on the pilot? Thanks
I just picked up some used 338L brass and half of it is loaded with unknown components. I want to break it down but the round is too fat to fit in my RCBS kinetic bullet puller. Any suggestions as to how to pull the bullets without messing them up? Thanks
