There are no visible marks on the barrel. If it's something that was just cobbled together, he had to be the world's best Cobbler - this will light a wooden stick match with mil surp Lithuanian ammunition at a hundred yards, and put one out at 200. Whose barrels did GAP use?
I used to see these here a while back. Were they a Hide build? I seem to remember something about them; just don't remember what.. It is a .308, Armalite lower, Badger Ordnance rail and a 20" stainless barrel.. Anyone want to fill me in on who made it, what kind of bbl., etc?
Heyya Sarge, thanks for your suggestions; both good. I'd rather go with the Daniel Defense stripped upper, but looked around and you're right.. didn't see anyplace that had one in stock. Maybe someone will read this & know a place that has one. Anyway, I appreciate you- for your great...
Hoping to tap into your knowledge and experience. Thinking about converting an original Colt R6600 which has the A2 carry handle upper to flat top. I understand not all the ones out there will work because of the difference in hole sizes. Likely to use the same bbl. What options exist...
Re: Best Gun Safe? thieves dont pry the doors open, they drill it and open the doors. the one thing to look at is the inside of the main door, meaning how it is assembled and what means are in place to protect against drilling to manipulate the lock open. There is only one "gun safe" company...
Re: Range Finders? Thanks for the comments, but not looking for opinions. Just want the straight dope. From the Zeiss Web Page Victory 8x26 T PRF: Beam Divergence 4.0 x 2.0 mrad Where does this fall? Is it the widest of the three brands? smallest? In the middle?

I have a simple RRA collapsible now; there must be better. Don't want/need the heavy Magpul adjustable, but there must be something better than what's on there now.
Re: Brake questions.. Ok, I laughed too! But let's assume a suppressor is out of the question. I understand that to an effective brake the gasses and thus noise have to be redirected. Is there one that isn't so very loud for the shooter and, kills flash too?
Is there a brake out there that doesn't make the rifle so loud for the shooter but still does a good job at reducing recoil? Is there one that brakes well, isn't so loud and still reduces flash?
Based on feedback from an earlier post, I ordered a mount from LaRue. Before doing so, I emailed them asking their recommendation for a one piece mount in which I could mount an SN3 TPAL 3.2-17 EREK 44mm low profile, low profile housing. The LT-158 is what was recommended and what I...
Re: Need your help on setting up scope, sight, etc ...don't really know what I'm after. This is my 1st AR. I'm looking for suggestions on what's good & how to set it up.
Re: .308; 149 vs 168, vs 175...? thanks guys. I'm looking at some of the ammo out there for sale & trying to understand the downrange differences before I plop down a buck or two. What is the 149gr xm80 like?
Guys, I'd like to get this right the first time. So far I've taken all sage advice and am now asking for your help on scope/ sight(s). The platform is an Armalite in .308. Scope is an US Optics SN3 TPAL 3.2-17, 44mm low profile. Looking for the right mount; Larue has been suggested. Also...
